I am a professional educator and have been teaching Spanish for the past 3 years. I learned Spanish in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a translator in the intensive post-9/11 military environment. After an 8-year career as an accountant and tax auditor, I decided to return to the classroom and pursue my true passion of teaching. My goal is to create a growth mindset in my students and to foster learners who are not afraid to try, fail, and keep trying. My end-goal is to create a more caring and accepting world through education.

I studied entrepreneurship at Creighton University. Since graduation in 2010 I've attended two years of Bible school and leadership training, started my own financial planning practice, and am currently in the funding phase for a second business. I also have 3 years of experience working with high school and college age students. What does that mean? A huge part of my knowledge base comes from experience! Java experience includes command line apps, Swing, and JavaFX. C / C++ experience includes Windows, Linux, Unix, and OS X. Can work at your pace and stay as basic or advanced as you like. Tutoring experience includes operating systems and data structure and algorithm courses.Besides the above, I have a broad IT hardware and software background if you would like help with general computer topics or discuss career options and possibilities.

I went to Elkhorn South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and I am currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. I have always helped out my fellow students with schoolwork, and I have tutored in the National Honor Society for three years. My tutoring strengths include my abilities to stay calm, be patient, and offer different perspectives on the learning process. I do not just help my students learn the material, but I also teach them how to learn it. I tutor math and test prep courses. Outside of school and tutoring, I play the piano. I have played classical piano for 13 years and jazz piano for 7.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy before then graduating from Creighton University's School of Law. I am passionate about teaching because of the unusual path I took to academia.I left high school in 9th grade and didn't return until my early 20's. However, upon returning, I hit the ground running and never looked back.After graduating from Creighton Law, I received my Divorce Mediator certification, attended both the State and Federal Tax schools offered through the State of Iowa, and passed my Securities Industry Essentials examinations.I am a lifelong learner and am dedicated to being the best student, teacher, and mentor. I'm a father to three boys, and teaching my sons the path to success is my greatest job.

I am a graduate of University of Nebraska Medical Center for my Master's degree. I received my Bachelor of Science in biology with chemistry and philosophy as minors. Since graduation, I have been a student and graduate research assistant at University of Nebraska Medical Center and pursued a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as did research within colorectal cancer. While I tutor a broad range of science courses, my passion lies within biology. I have experience being a tutor as in my undergraduate years, I was both a Math and Science Center Tutor and also a Peer Tutor. I have a strong passion to help others become not only better students but to also engage in a way that encourages learning and curiosity.

I have always been very passionate about learning. Growing up hiking and exploring, my fascination with the natural world was at the forefront of my educational goals. I was always curious about the mixed deciduous forest in my backyard or the rock quarries my friends and I went to on school breaks. I guess it makes sense then that I went on to study geology and biochemistry at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. While my desire to engage with the natural world persists, this past fall I began an MD/PhD program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska to achieve my dream of becoming a physician-scientist. With a rich history of working as a tutor and mentor for students from a variety of backgrounds, I am incredibly excited to dedicate myself to helping students amidst one of the greatest public health crises of our time. I have worked with students at both ends of the academic spectrum on not only traditional classroom subjects but also in a 'future preparation and planning' context. I am passionate about finding the best way for a student to learn and often times that encourages me to get outside of my comfort zone and re-imagine the problems in a way my student can best understand them. I am patient, outgoing, a fast learner and am excited to be a resource for you and/or your student!
