Knowledge, patience, and reliability. These are the three characteristics I aim to bring to my students.Knowledge comes from my diverse educational background in a wide variety of fields such as computer science, law, ESL, and general test taking skills. I have devoted years of study to each of these fields and I bring this to my students.Patience comes from my naturally calm demeanor, and my strong desire to help my students understand the materials in front of them. It also comes from knowing that everyone learns at their own pace, and that everyone can learn any concept, if given the proper opportunity.Reliability reflects my ability to let my students know they can count on me to help them advance in their studies. It also reflects my punctuality to make my appointments and communicate with my clients.

Hello. I currently graduated from New York University. I have a BA in biology and minor in computer science. I am currently working towards getting a MD in the future. At the moment, I am currently prepping for the MCAT. I am immersed in the laboratory setting and in the process of publishing my work on developmental aspect of flies.Since high school, I really enjoyed learning about biology and chemistry. I realized that many students struggled with concepts in these subjects. I know its very difficult to understand many of the processes either in the human body or in chemical reactions. My past tutoring experience gives me the confidence to effectively teach concepts with ease. As a tutor, I would like to understand the hurdles that the student is facing on the problem. In order to efficiently tutor a student, the student must understand the basic foundation of concept and it relates to the problem. I truly believe that all students can succeed in every subject.I would like to have a tutoring environment that is fun and helpful for the student. Let me pass on my experience and help you achieve the scores that you want.

Emphasis on proper schooling and education from my parents while I was growing up has been a key influence in my life. Education can not only be the tool for success in life but the right education can also evolve a person into a complete human being. The world of knowledge and education can open endless doors and avenues in life. I strongly value the role of education in every individual’s life and believe that every child can learn. As a mother, while raising my two children I emphasized the same importance of education, as I had while I was growing up. Not only did I highlight the priority of everlasting influence of education in their lives but I firmly believe that proper education can lead to the growth of a strong moral character. The recipe for a strong moral character includes ingredients such as i) cognitive aspect which is being aware of values such as honesty, integrity etc, ii) affective part includes the conscience or desire to do the right thing iii) behavioral part implies the ability or capacity to do the right thing.Children with special needs require the attention of special educators who are organized, patient, able to motivate students, understand their students' special needs, and accept differences in others. The role of a special educator is unique as it requires her/him to function as a facilitator of instruction, a behavior therapist, a role model as well as a mediator. He /she needs to have excellent training in his field to perform this task. I perceive that education can bring in a change in an individual's life and situation permanently. After my first interview at LIU for getting admission in their Master's Program in Education I became a firm believer of undertaking the dual program curriculum which required not only time and effort but serious commitment. Starting from the very first course " Lives of children" and then walking through all the teaching methods courses of Science, Math, Social studies and English, followed by Collaboration, Multicultural Education, Assessment, Classroom Management, Promoting wellness and Issues in Education provided me with the basis of strong foundation of imparting knowledge in today's very cosmopolitan, growing and global society. However, the courses Intro to students with Learning Problems, Teaching students with Learning Problems, Intro to Students with disabilities and Practicum in Literacy for Students with Learning Problems have presented me with a unique perspective of teaching those students with special needs who are capable of learning just like their peers in a general education classroom with an extra helping of motivation, patience, behavior management, caring and encouragement. My student teaching placement in a classroom of ten autistic children provided multiple instances where in spite of emotional, social disruptions and physical barriers learning continues to take place. Under the guidance of these highly qualified teachers the children come to school, learn, grow and conquer a bit of their disappointment. This experience was enriching and provided me with all the right tools to educate particularly the children with special needs so that they can become a valuable and contributing member of the society in spite of all their difficulties. My Master's in Elementary and Special Education degree from Long Island University in May 2012 New York State certifications in Elementary and Special Education have contributed towards my academic advancements. My present job as a SETTS teacher has enriched me with the experience, knowledge and techniques of teaching and classroom management skills. I am quite optimistic that my diverse educational background, skills and experiences will enrich the students that I come across.

Based on my experience as a student and as an instructor, teaching is an ever-evolving process where one is always looking for ways to improve yet also finding new challenges as research, teaching technology and classroom dynamics, and one’s own perceptions of what is an effective class, change and develop. I also find that I learn a lot from my students, and this sharing of opinions and experiences enriches the class content and keeps me from repeating the same patterns and routines. My goal in teaching is to not only stay in tune with new research, but also maintain and appreciation and an open eye for the process of teaching as a unique and dynamic event.
