I have always enjoyed helping my fellow students learn math and science. I feel like I can relate to many students because I have a variety of interests such as tennis, robotics, and reading. I try to make my sessions as fun as possible so that my students will remain interested in the subject matter for a longer period of time. I teach to the level of the student and explain using terms they will understand. Teaching others can sometimes seem difficult, but I believe it is ultimately rewarding. I am working towards completing a computer engineering major.

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in physics and math. I plan on graduating in 2019. Afterwards, I plan on going to graduate school to get a PhD. During college, I have been involved in various outreach events with the Society of Physics students including events like ExploreUT, as well as giving tours in the physics building. I have also done outreach in high school. As a committee member of the Bergen Science Challenge, I was involved in the planning and execution of a county-wide science fair for middle school students at my magnet high school in New Jersey. I like to show to my students why I enjoy learning about math and physics, as there are many interesting things to be learned about how the world works. I greatly enjoy learning about the odd consequences of fields like quantum mechanics and relativity. I have also done tutoring in the past, both independently and through the National Honors Society in my high school. I tutor a large variety of subjects within physics and math, up to and including Calculus. In my academics, I use the majority of physics and math knowledge I have accumulated on a regular basis in my classes, so I know where math and physics concepts are used in higher level classes, as well as how they apply to concepts outside of the subject.

Most recently I have been working as an educator as Discovery World in Milwaukee where I teach children in grades 2 through 12 in a lab setting about a variety of scientific topics and as an adjunct professor of Microbiology at WCTC. I have been an RN for 25 years. I am a graduate of The University of Northern Colorado where I earned my BSN and a Master's in nursing education. I received a second Master's in Nursing with a focus in Nurse Midwifery. Since graduation, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and spent 13 years as a Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado of Nursing. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, gardening and family time.

I studied linguistics and English in France and ended up with a Master's in Theatre (which is the other side of me).When I tutor, I always remember the English assistants I used to have at school, I learned so much more with them because they were fun, knew their country very well and could tell us about what was going on there (we listened to music, watched videos, read books and even performed in mini plays we had to write!). I try to emulate this. I am convinced that getting to know the culture of a country is tremendously helpful when it comes to learning a language. I fell in love with grammar in elementary school and completed all the exercises from the Bled (a French grammar book) instead of playing outside. Currently, I work as a research associate at a development economics lab at MIT, and plan to apply for medical school this upcoming summer. I hope to combine in MD with a PhD in Economics or Health Policy in order to work on issues regarding Healthcare Delivery.Throughout college, I had extensive experience tutoring. I tutored writing/essay editing and SAT prep for a year, as well as high school math for a semester. Furthermore, I participated in a week-long Spring Break tutoring program in New Orleans, where I tutored 3rd and 4th grade students in math. Lastly, I spent a month teaching computer literacy to health workers in rural Togo in the summer of 2013.I find tutoring to be an extremely rewarding experience.
