I am a junior at the University of Arizona and I am studying molecular and cellular biology. I'm in the honors college and in the taekwondo club, where I am treasurer. In addition to taking mostly honors science classes, I work in one of the university's research labs, where I do original genetic research.In high school, I took nine AP tests and scored 5 (the highest score) on eight of them. In addition, I got the highest possible score (36) on two of the four ACT subsections, and a score of 2330 out of 2400 on the SAT.I've always enjoyed explaining things to people. I taught biology and math to my high school's Academic Decathlon team, and we won the state competition and then proceeded to Nationals. In my free time, I like to play piccolo, read, and run.

I am a graduate of Park University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in English. I have extensive experience as a tutor and much of my tutoring experience has been with students from diverse backgrounds such as those in an English as a Second Language program. I enjoy encouraging my students and guiding them through their goals and assignments. I tutor numerous subjects which means that I have a broad range of education. I tutor Spanish, English, American Literature, English as a Second Language, Reading, and Writing. I'm passionate about these subjects and I encourage my students to set high goals for themselves while I also challenge them to set new goals each day. Nothing is more rewarding than helping someone to make a connection; learn something new or difficult; or to see how they apply this new understanding. Some information can be dry, scary, or very difficult to learn, but I think learning should not only be productive, but also fun.

I am a sophomore at the University of Kansas majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in math. I am a very big fan of chemistry and calculus, namely because of the relevant connections that can be made between these subjects and our everyday life. During the week, you can find me doing research in the lab, talking to students about getting involved in research labs as an undergraduate in my position as a Research Ambassador, or volunteering at KUs Sexual Assault Prevention and Education Center. On the weekends, I'm a fan of trying new foods, spending time outdoors and hanging out with friends.

I am currently a student at the University of Kansas working towards gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience as well as a minor in Spanish. I am involved in a variety of research in the applied behavioral science field on campus, and with the rest of my time, I like to volunteer. I am also in the process of becoming an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in Physics. I get the opportunity to tutor some of my friends and classmates in the classes we are enrolled in together as well as those I have already taken. I enjoy being in school and I want other students to feel the same way.For me, tutoring is important because it can help students feel like they finally understand a concept they have been struggling with for a while. Getting to see when a student has a light bulb moment is the most rewarding part. With just a little bit of individual attention, learning can become fun and interesting. Over the years I have found myself conducting classes for preschoolers, corporate executives, and every skill level in between. But I have found the tutoring model of one-to-one instruction brings quicker results. I enjoy helping students achieve those "ah ha" moments when a concept clicks. Often that moment comes by relating a troubling concept to something the student enjoys. My diverse interests enable me to build rapport and relate assignments to real life. Encouraging students to clearly communicate through writing and verbally explaining material builds success in any academic area. Together we will succeed.
