From there, I went to Emerson College to pursue my BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing where I took several intensive literature, analytical writing, creative writing, and public speaking courses. My concentration was in fiction writing and analysis. I also minored in Marketing Communications where I studied social media marketing and web analytics.At both institutions, I was able to tutor several students in English mechanics, reading comprehension, analytical writing, essay structure, and story analysis and composition. Most of my experience in tutoring has revolved around helping older students particularly 11th and 12th graders, and freshman and sophomore undergraduates, but I have also tutored 9th and 10th graders.My favorite subject to tutor is literary analysis! I have always loved the sciences, and through my courses in college I have also gained a huge appreciation for math, and especially calculus. I find that teaching concepts I've learned is the best way to truly cement my understanding of it. One of the most satisfying moments for me is when an idea finally "clicks" for a student and they suddenly understand the material much better. I always strive to make that happen. While in high school, I gained a year experience tutoring a classmate in AP Biology. In college I have aced my math courses, including Calculus 1 (differential) and Calculus 2 (integral). I earned very high scores on the ACT by practicing on my own and I consider myself a very good test taker, so I understand the techniques to get high scores on tests.

I am a Special Education Teacher who originally hails from Jamaica W.I. I was born in the month of June, in Montego Bay, in Jamaica and moved to the hills of Kingston as a baby. My father was a Major in the Jamaica Defense Force, and consequently, my five siblings and I were raised for the better half of our childhood, in the Armys Camp Base. In short, I am an Army kid. My immediate family, which consists of my three brothers and my two sisters, are a close knit one.I specialize in Deaf Education and am proficient in A.S.L. I enjoy teaching students of all ages. I attended the University of Massachusetts for two years, in which time I obtained a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.S. in Pure Mathematics. I have been tutoring since 2008, working with students of all ages, from kindergarten to undergraduate. I am especially passionate about tutoring mathematics, given that I have a very thorough understanding of all facets of the subject, and have always been gifted at helping pass that understanding onto my students. My name is Julien and I am currently working for an alternative investment strategies company as well as a full time graduate student at NYU studying real estate investing and financing. I graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Science in finance.I started tutoring and helping others during high school. Then upon starting college, I became a tutor for languages, mathematics, and most business classes.In my free time, I play the piano, take pictures and play tennis.

I am a certified teacher in the areas of Childhood Education and Special Education. I have approximately 8 and 1/2 years of classroom experience. I believe every child deserves a champion. A child should have a teacher who will leave a lasting mark on their lives that celebrated their progress, showed them mistakes are proof that they were trying, pushed them to new levels and always encouraged them to reach their fullest potential.
