I graduated the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Politics & Philosophy, and I moved to Cleveland to teach. I've spent the last three years in classrooms with the last year dedicated to subbing and working with different types of students and in different subjects. Most of my experience comes in teaching Reading and Writing, and I have helped students of all ages improve both their real life skills in those subject areas and their test scores. I have also tutored kids who did not speak English to help them increase their speaking and writing skills. I can tutor math up to Algebra II, and I have experience teaching math in the classroom. Lastly, I can tutor in the Social Sciences, particularly AP Government and AP US History, as I majored in those subjects in college.I really enjoy tutoring test prep subjects, because the time spent applying for college is so exciting and stressful. It is very easy to create a goal and work toward it when a student already has their sights set on a particular college, and I love being a part of that process. I like to think of myself as a goal-oriented tutor, helping my client pick out the thing that he or she wants by the end of our sessions and driving toward it. I also believe in meeting my client where they are in their subject matter and helping them learn in their particular individual style. It does not matter how my client learns, whether it is verbal or visual or even kinesthetic--I try to accommodate and ensure that they know the material the way they will remember it best.Aside from teaching, my interests include music and cooking. I grew up listening to punk rock, and in the process, I learned to play guitar and drums. At this point though, I listen to just about everything including hip-hop, electronic music, country, and pop. I also enjoy cooking and learning to make cuisines from other cultures. Lately, I have been trying to master Lebanese food. Lastly, I like to travel. I have been all over the USA and Western Europe, and I have even made it to the Middle East.

I am currently finishing my dual major in Economics and Political Science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I discovered my love for tutoring when I began tutoring Economics for the Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) at the University. Economics is still my favorite subject to tutor because I get to see students' eyes light up as they realize how the subject can be used to explain society around them. I now also tutor a variety of high school level classes and find equal joy helping students along the same academic journey I set off on years ago.My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when the tutor acts as a guide rather than an additional teacher by allowing the student to consider the idea on their own, and stepping in when the student becomes stumped. When consulting a tutor, a student should consider the tutor as a means of making their study time more effective.

My professional life has taken many turns and unexpected assignments, many of which are different from what I studied in College, and later in Grad School. I have been a teacher, a researcher, an environmental consultant, a project evaluator, a lab technician, a property manager, among other things. I have performed fairly well at all these tasks, and it is because I think that as long as you have a strong back ground and a strong education, you can always research, study and learn new things, and develop you own strategies to allow you to respond favorably to a variety of topics and tasks. My favorite one has been teaching, and among all topics I have taught, STATISTICS is the one that I enjoyed the most. I had great professors for this subject who made clear one thing to me: statistics is a great science that allows you to improve your decision-making process and make you a better scientist.

I have received my B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from DePaul University in 2018, and my M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021. I am currently working towards my PhD in Computer Science at UW-Madison.I was a math tutor at DePaul University from Dec. 2016 to June 2018, and TA'd at UW-Madison from August 2018 to May 2020.I am passionate in tutoring students from middle school to graduate-level in a variety of math subjects. Helping young people understand mathematical and computer science related subjects is very exciting to me! I also was a secondary mathematics education major for several years before deciding to change my course and look at graduate programs in mathematics. Thus, I have a lot of experience differentiating instruction for the diverse needs to students. I have also worked with many different age groups, from first graders to non-traditional university students. I have a genuine passion for mathematics and that passion helps my students see math in a new light.Throughout my experience tutoring, I have covered Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra-based Physics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Introductory Statistics and Probability, Linear Algebra, and Abstract Algebra. I have been tutoring for three years, and I love working with kids and helping them find their confidence in school work. I tutor Calculus, Algebra, Math, and Middle School Math, and I can also help with ACT prep (I have a lot of tips and tricks that helped me!) My favorite subject to tutor is math! I love working through different problems and the feeling of satisfaction when figuring out a tricky problem! I love teaching others tricks to complete math problems. I am passionate about teaching because I want to help others find an appreciation for learning, and I feel this comes when students feel confident in their abilities to complete schoolwork. When I begin teaching upon graduation, I want to work to end the mental health stigma and make sure that all of my students feel comfortable in my classroom. I believe that school should emphasize learning over memorization, and I do not want my class to add a significant amount of stress to students' lives. As a tutor, I hope to help kids decrease their stress levels by being able to complete work in an efficient way with me. Outside of academia, I love dancing, lifting, reading, watching Netflix, and spending time with friends.
