My education and teaching experience has provided a strong background in mathematics, statistics, economics, ecology and environmental sciences. I have taught mathematics and statistics courses for over 30 years to students in a variety of life sciences curricula . Teaching (more importantly, educating!) is my passion. I believe that teaching statistics and math should result in real-world, useful applications of the material. I use a socratic method of questions/answers to encourage critical thinking and problem solving skills. I am also a retired professional fire fighter with over 29 years of fire service. In my spare time I enjoy riding my Harley-Davidson on long road trips, restoring a 1965 Mustang and outdoor sports and photography.

Let's look at education to be a conversation. The teaching is to speaking and informing, while essays are the response to what you probably heard at the initial part of the conversation. Maybe we should change how to look at the classroom, it was meant to be an area that enables us to discuss everything we think about outside of it.

I've always enjoyed math. I enjoy being able to help others understand it. And I feel gratified when I can relieve the stress a student is feeling about not getting the math they have to do for a class or test.Outside of math, I have a degree in psychology and am very interested in the topic. In my spare time, I also like hiking, mountain climbing, table tennis, running, reading, Ethiopian and Thai restaurants, and chess.

I have a PhD and have been tutoring for 10 years. I believe all students can learn, improve their test scores, and feel better about their abilities to succeed as students. I love to tutor math because I like to show the students how powerful of a tool math can be at explaining the world around us. I often find that the students are a lot smarter than they think.In my off time I enjoy reading, hiking, running, and watching the Carolina panthers. I love puzzles and riddles and have solved many different Rubik's cubes.

I have an MBA from Columbia University with majors in Marketing, Management Science and Distribution.I have tutored students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) topics.
