Everything that we touch, see and feel has a relationship with numbers and we can master the concept of math through this idea.My job is to make you the most amazing student you can be. First, we will focus on the student as a whole. We will address content and issue with the subject that you are having issues with. I am a student at Rice University working towards a degree in History and English. Every summer I look forward to working with students. In the past, I have taught English, creative writing, nature/biology, and even cooking, but my favorite areas to teach are English Literature and History. I find that teaching children struggling in these subjects new ways of approaching their topic, whether a historical event or a classic novel, greatly improves comprehension, enjoyment of the subject, and test scores. Simply providing a new context for learning can create a better understanding that turns a weak subject into a strength. With all my students, I emphasize a balance between memorized aspects like vocabulary, and analytical skills that demonstrate a more thorough knowledge of them material. Apart from tutoring, I love to cook, write, fish, and play frisbee.

I have just graduated with the BS in Math from the University of Houston, and planning to go to the graduate school soon. I have been working at the tutoring center called Undergraduate Scholars at the University of Houston for the past year and a half as a tutor of chemistry, biology and math. The experience has been amazing. Working with the adult students has been so much fun that it doesn't seem like work most of the time. It's really great to know that I am helping these students to do better with their school work and giving them a greater opportunity to succeed. Throughout the year I have had a chance to get to know the students and have found that they are all incredibly intelligent and have a great deal of potential. My experience at University has given me insight not only into how these students learn, but also how to help them learn more effectively. My time here has been wonderful and I wouldn't change it for the world. It is my belief that I cannot truly master something until I can teach it to others. Thus, I view tutoring as an essential component of the learning process. With respect to my tenure as a tutor at the Undergraduate Scholars, this has certainly been the case. From helping to ease students of their confusion in the lab, to leading review sessions in front of spacious lecture halls, my experiences as a tutor have augmented my interpersonal as well as technical skills. The responsibilities inherent to tutoring have motivated me to enhance my knowledge, to question my preconceptions, and to strengthen my understanding of math, chemistry and biology. In addition, coming to know and befriend the students, tutors, and faculty involved in the tutoring process has enriched my tutoring experience.

It is perfectly phonetic and it is spoken exactly the way it is written. It can be learned quite easily as long as it is explained properly.I travel as often as I can. Besides living in many places in the USA, I have been to Europe and Mexico many times. I have also traveled to Australia, Africa and Canada. I love to go to the gym, swim, take Pilates classes and lift weights. I read a great deal and enjoy all the wonderful activities Houston has to offer.
