I'm a 2018 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University with two degrees in English and mass communication. Currently, I'm pursuing a master's in library science (focusing on youth services) from Simmons University. I spent two years as a reporter for a local newspaper covering education, where I realized just how much I enjoy working with students. Due to my educational background and personal interests, I'm most passionate about tutoring literature and writing. Words are our most powerful tool! I want to help young people develop their voices and realize that reading doesn't have to be a chore.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.

I became interested in learning Spanish in middle school because of the neighborhood I lived in. Everyone around me spoke Spanish. After taking classes all throughout middle & high school, it became a goal for me to become fluent. Therefore I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Psychology from the University of California, Davis. In college I tutored foreign exchange students from Latin America and helped them learn English. I also had an internship at a an elementary school in their Spanish Immersion Program where I taught 5th graders lessons in Spanish. I didn't know I had a passion for working with students until I started working with middle & high school students at an outreach program. During my 3 years working with students I realized that resources and guidance are what determines a student's future and I wanted to be able to help impact student's lives by giving them the resources I didn't have access to growing up. Students are the future to changing the world and my idea of helping others and giving back is to help students grow their skills by learning another language. I also recently received my Masters of Science in Administration with an Emphasis in Leadership. My degree has propelled me into a role working with college students, mentoring and developing them on marketing and sales for networking tactics. I'm a firm believer that being bilingual has set me up for success in the workplace and all generations should have access to learn even outside the realm of traditional school.

I graduated from high school with an IB diploma as well as substantial AP credit. I then attended Washington University in St. Louis and graduated this past May with degrees in both Computer Science and Finance.I've had ample experience working in teams throughout my academic career and solving problems in a very collaborative manner.I can work with you on any computer programming projects that you may be working on. We can review the concepts behind the code, the syntax of the language you are working with, or take a look into bugs you may be running into.I would describe my tutoring style as collaborative with a focus on problem solving techniques. Especially in programming, the problem solving process is more important than the eventual solution to the problem.Outside of academia, I love playing and watching soccer!

As a premed, I completely understand the toll that the MCAT takes and I'm excited for the opportunity to help fellow premeds to take the test. I've worked as an ACT/SAT tutor in high school and after taking the MCAT and scoring in the 97th percentile, I've been helping my classmates prep for the test. I am a senior Neuroscience student at the University of Texas at Dallas, and I am tutoring in the four sections of the MCAT. I will help you make a schedule and work through YOUR problems from whatever resources you use.

Growing up in a very test-driven academic environment in China, I was very passionate about studying and developing effective learning methods. As a result, I had always been one of the best students in my school, despite the fierce competition.Also, I gained a great sense of achievement by helping my classmates in different subjects, such as math, English or general studying guide. I gradually developed an interest in tutoring.In 2008, I was selected to be a translator serving Beijing Olympic Games. I had an honor to share Chinese language and culture to American colleagues from Aramark. One year later, I worked in an international hotel and met people from all over the world. I love working with people!I was offered a full-tuition scholarship in an MBA program in the U.S because of my outstanding GMAT score. I scored 720 out of 800 after one month self-study, without any sort of training.As you can see from my personal experience, I constantly raise my own bar and will be happy to help you do so! I believe learning is a lifetime ability and it will do wonders if you follow the right path.I look forward to working with you!

Through my graduate program, I received my teacher certification in the state of Texas for teaching Spanish Early Childhood-12 Grade, English as a Second Language, and English Language Arts and Reading 6-8. In the past, I have taught Spanish as a world language to students in grades 9 - 12. I also worked as an ESL teacher to students in grades 6 - 8 where I helped English language learners adjust to life in the United States and prepare them for success in all core academic subjects for two years. In 2021, I lived in Spain and taught English to students K-6. Since 2022 I have started teaching 8th grade English Language Arts. I have many years of experience tutoring students at the secondary level for English, Spanish, French, and various social studies subjects including Texas History, U.S. History, World History, Sociology, and Psychology.

Growing up in a place heavily influenced by France and all its culture like Morocco, I developed a new sense of self apart from my African roots. Morocco may be known for its Mediterranean foods, its beautiful architecture and mosaic style and its beautiful beaches and sand dunes of the Sahara but its French influence is hardly ever mentioned. Due to the French colonization of the country, I grew up speaking both French and Arabic and went on to attend private schools under the French educational system. This is where I learned proper French with all its rules and uses as well as proper Arabic.Since I was not obligated and expected to know my grammar and conjugation and all the other aspects of French until I started school, I realized how challenging it really was. However, like everyone else in my class, I pulled through until I graduated high school with a French diploma. I would have never made it through school if it were not for my teachers who gave me ample support and understanding whenever I succeeded and, more importantly, whenever I fell short. They became role models and motivated me to do well and to not give up to not only make them and my parents proud but myself as well. This is the experience that I hope I provide students with.When my own daughters were going through the same French system I went through in Morocco, I helped them with their homework and assignments almost every day until they finally understood it well enough to go through their own by themselves. Of course, I still helped them every now and then but they are now proficient French speakers and know as much grammar, colloquialisms, vocabulary and slang as I do. I even helped out their friends at the time and felt overjoyed at their success- I was very proud. I was a volunteer tutor for over 12 years until I moved my family to Texas. Here, my daughters tested out of the most advanced French classes of their schools but their friends still came to me. This was the time I learned that French is a much more complicated language for English native speakers. There are far more rules and styles in French that are not observed in English, such as gender roles. It took me a little while but I learned to help their friends get the grades they wanted and learn some French along the way. I learned a lot from my students along the way and want to transform my experiences into something I can do every day.I strive to be not only a teacher but a mentor at the same time. To become an educator whose influence is observed outside the classroom- at interviews, jobs, restaurants, parks, conventions, etc. My biggest gain comes from seeing my students do better in school, gain self-confidence and being proud of themselves, as their success is a reflection of both my methods. By teaching a language with which I grew up, I hope to both gain and give new cultural perspectives and share my love for the language.
