I am a student at Indiana University Bloomington working towards a Bachelor in Science in Biology and Neuroscience. During college, I have been a member of numerous campus organizations, such as Timmy Global Health through which I had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala and work with local healthcare providers. In Guatemala, we traveled to rural sites to set up clinics and teach the citizens of rural communities about proper nutrition habits and others ways to improve their health using the resources they have available. These experiences motivated me to seek a future in healthcare in which I will be attending the Indiana University School of Medicine in the Fall of 2021 in order to become a physician. Moreover, I am most passionate about tutoring in Biology and Algebra. I see great importance in education because it helped me make my dreams a reality. In my opinion, education is a great way to increase understanding of the world and to open up a world of opportunities in the future. My motto with education and tutoring is to focus on the small wins and to work education into one's life, rather than vice versa. In my free time, I enjoy painting/crafting, walking, and watching football.

I've always loved school and learning. At the core of my teaching philosophy is the idea that anyone can learn anything, so long as the instructor is willing to teach to the student's style of learning. Most subjects came easily to me, but I hit a wall with math in middle school and just never seemed to be able to get it to 'click.' Then, I had a very patient teacher who helped me figure out how I could learn math, and it was like the wall crashed down. I would love to see every teacher have to teach his or her worst subject for a couple of years, in order to figure out how to become a better instructor.

I then returned to teaching at the elementary level as a resource teacher and have been doing that for the last 5 years. I have worked with students in class and as a tutor in grades K-8.My specialties include reading intervention, educating those with disabilities, and math. I am certified in several reading intervention programs including OG and use unique approaches to learning. I primarily work with grades K -8, with most of my experience being in elementary grades.My approach to learning is a guiding step by step process until you reach the independent level. I strongly believe in adapting lessons to meet learning styles that best fit the needs of each unique learner.

I believe in the art/practice of giving back to education. I am a current practicing physician assistant in Family Medicine and I have experience working with people of all ages. I believe that everyone will respond to different teaching methods, and by allowing a professional relationship to take place, we can further see the relationship between school and real world application. I have a bachelor's degree in Biology, as well as a Master of Medical Science in the field of physician assistant studies.

I am currently a Junior at Washington University in St. Louis, studying computer science and math. I hope to one day be a software engineer. I love working with other people and want to help others succeed in my areas of expertise.

Hello my name is Rodney O'Neal and I am currently a junior at Indiana University - Bloomington where I major in Computer Science and Artifical Intelligence. I am passionate about Computer Science related topics and I am excited to meet you!

I am an incoming college sophomoore studying Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was one of the top scholars at Carmel High School in Indiana and have various experiences teaching and tutoring through leading the Carmel High School Science Olympiad team to Nationals for two years in a row. Many of my friends consistently come to me for help with various subjects because of my willingness to help and teach in a way that makes sense to everyone. My specialities are physics, chemistry, math, and economics but I am comfortable tutoring any STEM subject, the SAT, and the ACT. Some of my accomplishments include a perfect 36 ACT score, 800 on the Physics, Math Level 2, and Chemistry SAT subject tests, and a 5 on all the physics, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Computer Science, etc. AP exams. When teaching, I focus on making sure that not only do students understand different concepts, but also that students understand why and practical applications of the different concepts. As a recent high school graduate, I have a deep understanding of how high-schoolers think, what is covered in various courses now, and can connect with my students a lot more. Additionally, as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, I taught weekly recitation sections of 30 students and held weekly office hours. Therefore, I have lots of experience teaching and working with students.

I have been a math teacher in High School and Middle School and enjoy helping students achieve their goals. It is great to have students understand the ability that we all have in our mind.

My teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to think critically and independently as well as how to think rather than what to think. I am a certified ESL teacher as well as teaching History at the local community college. Being an ESL teacher gives me the opportunity to bridge language and cultures, which is something I am passionate about. History is the perfect subject to encourage students to think critically and independently. History, whether it is personal/family or state or national or world, provides an identity and moral understanding. I find it exciting when students move beyond parroting what I say or what the readings say to draw their conclusions and back up their statements with facts. By examining the past, students learn so much more about the present, as well as develop the abilities to use logic, problem-solve, assess evidence and conflicting interpretations, and understand past examples of change. These abilities transition into working life skills as well as develop responsible public behavior no matter if they are a national or community leader, an informed voter, or an observer.Geographically, my life has been all "over the world." Not only have these opportunities fueled my lifelong interest in world history and politics, but they have also developed my passion for delving into American history and politics. Teaching is not just a "job" to me, but rather a privilege that carries significant responsibilities.

Having graduated from the University of Chicago with a double major in Mathematics and Statistics, I now work as a software developer. Many of my day-to-day responsibilities involve training or tutoring coworkers, which I enjoy. In addition, I have experience tutoring from my college and high school days.I love to facilitate the learning journey of my students and trainees, and I like to take a Socratic approach where I guide students to come to the answer through their own reasoning.
