My goal when tutoring is to not only help students learn how to get the right answer but help them understand why that answer is correct. BBA - Management rec'd 05/2005BSP - Urban Planning rec'd 06/2022BS - Geography expected 12/2023I have about 15 years of experience tutoring or teaching mathematics.I taught GED Math and SAT Math classes at public colleges. All but one of my GED Math students passed the GED Math after completing an 8-week session (2 days/wk) and several of my SAT students had improved their SAT Math scores by as much as 200 points after completing a 6-week session (1 day/wk). I have given students tips on how to prep for tests, use TI calculators, and write the perfect essay.I have also helped students with Algebra, Geometry, and other areas of mathematics. It has always been my goal to make sure that my students were able to use what they learned to help themselves thrive at the next level.Because I'm currently working on my third bachelor's degree (in Geography), I am confident that I can also help students with Geography and Earth Science as well.

I am a young engineer with experience in the aerospace and automotive industries. I am a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. I have also worked previously in the education field teaching multiple subjects including math, science, and English from the elementary school level all the way to university students. I enjoy teaching most subjects but my favorite subjects to teach are any math or physics. From my experiences, I have developed a philosophy in that students learn best when they enjoy studying and are involved. So when possible, I try to approach teaching in a way that is not only informative but also interesting. I also try to guide students on the topics they struggle instead of just lecturing on principles and concepts as I feel that when students actively experience subjects, they are more likely to understand material and how to apply it. While I am not working, I enjoy traveling, playing sports (usually basketball), video gaming, and cooking.

I am a graduate of Eastern Oregon University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Science (with a double major in anthropology and ecology). I am also a graduate of Logan University with a Master of Science degree in nutritional science. Currently, I am a doctoral student, pursing two different doctoral degrees at two different schools. I am completing my Doctor of Education degree at Logan University (with a focus in health professions education), and am completing my Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (with a focus in comparative biomedical sciences). Much of my graduate research and training focuses on developing medical education curricula that is more student-based and centered, as well as animal behavior/welfare research that begins with individual animals and carries over towards more healthy and sustainable ecosystems and populations.Even though I am trained at the graduate level in several biological 'subdisciplines,' such as cellular biology, nutritional biochemistry, etc., I particularly enjoy tutoring introductory biology, chemistry, and environmental science courses. I have always had broad scientific interests, spanning several scientific disciplines, which was a primary driving agent in my pursuit of an integrative bachelor's degree in that it allowed me to take a variety of these underpinning science courses. I strongly believe these courses can be exciting, and that they hold the potential for opening many avenues of student self-discovery. I feel that helping students flourish in these introductory courses not only builds self-confidence (along with better grades), but also builds self-insight and self-awareness that can help broaden and direct future trajectories and choices down the road.Outside of academic-related activities, I especially enjoy the outdoors and endurance sports. I have traveled extensively both inside and outside of the U.S. often traveling to some really remote destinations. I particularly enjoy running especially trail running, because I get to enjoy the natural world while getting some exercise.

I have been in the field of education for twenty years now. I began my career in 2001 as a third grade teacher in New York City. During my duration there, I taught grades three through six. I relocated to the state of Georgia in 2005 where I continued my teaching in grade 5. I have twenty years of certified teaching experience under my belt to offer your student. I am currently serving as a third grade instructional leader for Dekalb County Schools.I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Elementary/Special Education, and a Education Specialist Degree from Grand Canyon University in Instructional Leadership. I will soon be leaving the classroom to pursue school administration. My philosophy of education is very simple; I believe that every child deserves an education no matter what obstacle or hindrance may come their way. It has been my duty and my honor to live up to that creed since I began this journey in this field.

My name is Ibaad, and I'm a pre-medical student at Emory University with a biology major and an anthropology minor. Before entering college, I tutored freshmen in high school through a peer leadership program, traveled to elementary schools as part of volunteer opportunities, and often coached family friends to help them prepare for standardized tests. The subjects I'm most passionate about include literature, Spanish, and sciences like biology. However, I also enjoy helping students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. My teaching style is centered around the idea that learning is a process, and the key aspect to successful tutoring is persistence. Outside of academia, some of my hobbies include volunteering, exercising, and traveling to new places.

I have always had a mind for mathematics and science. Because of this gift, I was always the one person in class everyone asked for help. I learned quickly how to teach others, which helped in my home life as I had a younger brother who was not so gifted in math. Through him, and his friends who also struggled with mathematics, I found that most people struggle with math because they believe it is too difficult. I believe by being a tutor and helping others learn I can impart my wisdom to the next generation and make a difference in the world. What sparked my interest in Biology was an interest in life. I loved animals and learning about them. This love for animals narrowed to a love of the complexity of the human system, which I am now studying. When I'm not studying I enjoy music of all genre. From VNV Nation to Trivium to Earth, Wind, and Fire, I love all music and can appreciate most music. I also enjoy reading novels, preferably those in the realm of science fiction. And though I can enjoy playing video games in a casual sense, I'd much prefer walking Kennesaw Mountain or skiing on Lake Altoona. It is my hope that through my experiences as a knowledgeable brother, friend, and tutor, I can also help a broader range of people learn the subjects they are experiencing difficulties in.

Hey everyone! I am currently a first year at Georgia State University. I'm working towards a bachelors in computer science. I've always loved helping out students that need assistance on their school work. I've been in the postion where I have found the material I was learning hard, and I needed help with my work. As a tutor, I hope I can help those of you that are in that postion. Even if you know the material well and just need review, I am still willing to help. I'm motivated to assist students in any way I can. Currently I tutor elementary to middle school math. I also tutor trigonometry, algebra, and pre-calculus.
