I am master's in Electrical Engineering and have been teaching Electrical Engineering topics for more than six years.I also enjoy mathematics and physics and supporting students to learn Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry & calculus.

I am a knowledgeable, passionate, and compassionate tutor. My teaching experience ranges from high school instruction, private tutoring, coaching, preaching, and leading high school youth groups. I have tutored and/or taught in algebra 1, geometry, American literature, world literature, middle school math, middle school science, middle school English/reading, American history, world history, essay composition, SAT prep, SSAT/ISEE prep, SHSAT prep, and GRE prep. I always try to discern what the individual needs and learning styles of my students are and then try to meet them where they are. I believe that there is a great student inside everyone, and it takes the right approach to make that great student manifest.

After my third year at Temple University, I have come to love helping others build the foundations for a strong education and enhance their problem solving abilities. I recently was able to have a position as an undergraduate TA in a high level organic chemistry class which developed my skills both as an educator and a student, because the two are inseparable. I am currently pursuing a BS in chemistry at Temple University and wish to attend graduate school in order to get my PhD in inorganic chemistry. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going out with friends to explore Philadelphia, and learning something new every day!

I am a graduate of Temple University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Since graduation, I traveled back home to the British Virgin Islands to be with my family and to give back to my home community. For three years, I taught at a private secondary school focusing on 11th and 12th grade biology, chemistry and mathematics as well as 10th grade Integrated Science. I have tutored various students in statistics, algebra, trigonometry and geometry but my passion is teaching biology and chemistry. I believe that the true goal of education is to build intelligence and character. I always look for the best in my students. I make learning fun by using the best approach in a given situation to boost the learning capacity in my student. One of my greatest and proudest accomplishments is that after teaching and prepping my students for the Caribbean Secondary Education Council, a two year process, they were all able to attain 100% passes. I enjoy playing basketball, discussing football, writing poetry and prose and a little bit of video gaming.

Having mastered a broad range of engineering subjects, both as a student and a tutor, I am well-equipped and eager to help students overcome their challenges and excel in mathematics.I have held my passion for mathematics since middle school and after graduating from the University of Florida with bachelors in both mechanical and aerospace engineering, my passion for tutoring was sparked when I worked as a TA for the thermal laboratory helping students run experiments, obtain data, and critiquing their work.Most of my expertise is in the harder math topics such as statics, dynamics, and controls, however I wish to enforce the fundamentals with my students to make sure they get the basics down before pursuing the more challenging subjects. Normally, I have had the most success in tutoring by locating the root of the misunderstanding and clearing up any misconceptions in the topics being taught. My approach is based on inquiry and assessment.In pursuing my degrees in engineering I have always loved math and science and saw engineering as the point where they both meet. From working with matrices in linear algebra to differential equations, I have always loved learning new concepts that can be explained mathematically. One experience I had was working with a rocket design team where I learned about concepts way outside the class room like nozzle design and igniter design. I enjoy learning about the designs of spacecraft, while at the same time appreciating the ingenuity behind them.

Everything I learn, I do so for the purpose of teaching it to someone else.

I am very patient and passionate about helping students learn how to think like a scientist when solving problems. I truly love both mathematics and physics. I studied both of them in college and found the subjects to be engaging and useful. During high school and college, I gained a lot of experience tutoring informally and formally in a range of math subjects and physics topics. Even as a major of physics in college, I would sometimes end up tutoring other physics majors in some Junior level physics classes if I had taken the class before.In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, read (mostly sci-fi and fiction), play video games, and study new topics in physics and math. I am currently taking a class at the University of Washington, Bothell for fun, it's called 'Abstract Algebra'. I fell in love with math early when I realized it was just one idea that was built on another. I then took physics in my senior year of college and fell in love with that as well.In my opinion, physics is so fascinating because of it's predictable nature. It let's physicists predict the existence of stellar objects--like the prediction of black holes by Einstein in the early 1900s-- predict where our spaceship will land if we fire the rocket at this or that angle, or predict if and how it is possible to produce clean, near limitless energy in the form of cold fusion. It also, by its nature, seeks to explain the different phenomena and mysteries that the world contains. Quantum physics explained why the periodic table of elements was periodic, one of the biggest mysteries for chemists since its development.

I am a senior biomedical engineering undergraduate and chemical biology masters student at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken New Jersey. I have a vested interest in the performing arts, love going to the gym, and hanging out with my fraternity brothers. While at Stevens I have spent a lot of time doing research in cell biology and chemistry, while working for the Academic Support Center, tutoring freshmen and sophomores in a variety of subjects. My favorite subjects include biology and calculus! When I teach, I am very passionate about building a students foundation in a topic. If this is done successfully, the student instantly moves away from trying to memorize facts and is equipped with the skills necessary to achieve a fuller understanding of the subject. One of my many mantras is and always will be:"Don't memorize..... think, learn, understand."

I am a junior at the University of Washington in the Civil and Environmental Engineering major. I have helped all three of my siblings with their math homework, as well as tutored math in high school. I teach snowboarding to elementary age kids in the winter, and in the summer, I assist at a science camp for the same age group. I love helping out and bringing more people into the STEM classes.
