When I met my husband, he was living in Chile and did not understand or was able to speak Spanish at all. That's when my passion for teaching started.I've worked with students from different countries and I'm fascinated to learn about them and their cultures.I studied Business &Administration in Universidad de las Americas, Chile but I learned to fluently speak English when I came to USA to work as a snowboard instructor for the holidays.I'm a Spanish Tutor, native Spanish Speaker from Chile and I love to teach my students how fun is to be able to speak Spanish and how to use the language properly every time you visit South America.I would describe myself as an avid talker, I want to know what do you love to do, what are your goals and dreams and if you ever met someone named MACARENA before..(like the song...yes...that song).Besides sharing my passion abut teaching Spanish, I'm a full time Mom to 4 children. I love trying DIY projects at home, learn how to use power tools and practice hand-lettering...I believe there is nothing you can't learn in this life, you just need to do it.

Teaching is my passion. I enjoy working with students of all ages and am a supportive and caring teacher who loves helping students grow and enjoy learning. I am a National Board Certified teacher and have been teaching for 18 years. I have experience working with middle school, high school, and college students. I have taught middle school English and social studies, high school AP English Language and Composition, and college history courses. I have also worked in university writing centers and am skilled at helping students develop their writing skills.In addition, a passion of mine is working with students to help them develop their executive functioning skills. I love helping students develop effective study habits by teaching them about organization, planning out assignments and due dates, and prioritizing.I also scored very high in the social studies and English Praxis tests and am eager to help others successfully pass these tests as well.But whatever I'm teaching, it's the relationship with my students that is key. My students feel safe and appreciated around me; they feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakestwo habits of mind that are crucial to learning.

I am a senior at Muhlenberg College and I am double majoring in Media & Communications and French & Francophone studies. Last fall I had the opportunity to study abroad in southern France and complete a full french-language cultural immersion program. Therefore, my french abilities increased significantly. I know that french isn't always easy; however, I have learned some helpful tips along the way. I know how to break things down and make what seemed difficult at first, appear very simple and clear.
