I am a multilingual (5 languages) person with spanish origins, but who was born and raised in Switzerland. I love to help people especially teaching them, as I am conviced we would live in a better world with a higher education level. In my opinion education has a huge effect on the social behaviour of each one of us. More educated people means less crime and more social values. I am blessed and very happy, if I can contribute something in this matter.

I am a licensed teacher from China where I taught over 500 middle school and elementary school students in a 9 year span. Students love my classes and we became friends after they graduated. My speciality is Mandarin Chinese. I studied in China and US and have a Bachelor's degree in language arts. I am open-minded, skillful and passionate in teaching. I am big on listening. I am good at engaging students in my class. I am approachable and kind-hearted. While I am not teaching, I love to hang out in downtown Chicago with my friends. I also love music, travel, singing, dancing, and fashion.

I believe I can teach almost anything because teaching is an intensely personal endeavor. It is my job to motivate you to want to learn whatever it is you trying to learn. From there, my job is to guide you so you can not only discover for yourself, but keep discovering beyond my influence. In general, my favorite topics to teach are history and science. In history lies the importance of why things are because of us humans. Science is raw objective knowledge.

That is why I believe that education is the most important sphere of peoples activity, because it stores peoples knowledge.Education is the bridge between past achievements and the future ones. Moreover, education is the only way for the people to move forward, because it is the background for science developing, hence its a highway to new discoveries and personal developing. Today we face the world of rapid changes, requiring even more knowledge than it used before. We need to learn new things during the entire life not to fall behind of the progress.I understood the crucial importance of education in high school. Being inspired by my teachers, I decided to devote my life to teaching, helping others learn a new language and developing new techniques of learning, which could be helpful for the students all over the world. I am an English Educator. In May 2019, I received my Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University in English. More recently, I have received my teaching certification in grades 6-12. My philosophy of teaching English Language Arts is centered around culturally responsive teaching. I am passionate about helping students because I believe that youth should be empowered to explore, experiment, and discover in ways that meet their needs.My teaching experience ranges across a diverse group of learners. Most of my experience is in Middle and High School as I engaged in service learning and practicums through my university in those placements. However, I have also worked with Elementary School learners in after-school and extracurricular programs. My work extends to adults in the community as well as I have worked in an educative role in an intentional housing organization. I also have traveled to various countries in Europe, South America, and Africa studying education. For five years, I participated in a Global Educator's Cohort Program that prepared me to work with diverse learners and create multicultural academic environments. Most recently, I spent the past school year student-teaching 10th grade Pre-AP English and 12th grade Creative Writing. Currently I teach 11th Grade British & World Literature and 10-12th Grade Creative Writing.I am currently available to tutor in English Language Arts related content at all age levels including but not limited to reading, reading comprehension, writing, essay writing, grammar and syntax, American and/or comparative literature, as well as ACT/SAT reading and writing prep.When it comes to one-on-one tutoring, my teaching philosophy is directed by an individualized approach. Using the resources from the course and/or exam that the student is preparing for, I work with the student to create meaningful scaffolds, practice work, and generative assessment. I completed 2 actuarial exams and worked in the field for 3 years before deciding to pursue a career as an actor. I am an undergraduate student at Saint Louis University majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Computer Science, and have been accepted into medical school. As a tutor with Learning Lodge for the past two years, I have worked with children from families adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at Best Brains Learning Center, an enrichment program designed to help children aged 3 and above develop academically. While I tutor various subjects, I am especially passionate in teaching students Math, Science, English, and Writing; these have been extremely exciting subjects to teach the future generations eager to learn more. After spending several years tutoring children and taking courses such as Developmental Child Psychology and learning the most effective ways to curate a teaching curriculum targeted toward ensuring children retain knowledge and have fun, I have an increased interest in one day becoming a Pediatric Neurologist or Adolescent & Child Psychiatrist! As an advocate for education rights and expanding progress in the community and worldwide, I am committed to helping struggling students obtain the necessary resources for a bright future filled with passionate learning and sharing my joy.
