I received my Master's of English Literature at USF in 2021. I am passionate about reading and discussing great works of literature. I believe that reading, both as an academic skill and as a personal hobby, is the key that unlocks the potential many students never reach because reading is seen as difficult or unpleasant. Both the exercise of reading, and the continual discussion of what is read are important parts of learning and cognitive development.

I nerd out on grammar technique, but I love hiking, kayaking and playing volleyball.I got married on NYE in the middle of the pandemic and am loving being newly married.I started a non-profit to support students in October 2019 and hope to be able to work full-time running that and part-time supporting students here b/c I believe in the next generation and understand the value of one-on-one support!

I am currently working as a high school ESE teacher in Sarasota, FL. I have 9 years of teaching experience, majority of which was in a high school setting teaching a variety of subjects. I graduated with my B.S. in Natural Science and my Masters in Special Education, I also have my k-12 reading endorsement. I have a passion for teaching and love working with children. I like to make learning fun and create strong, professional relationships with my students. I have the ability to create trust between the students and myself by getting to know them and their interests and applying these interests to their learning.

Hello, my name is Joy. I'm from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I moved to Florida 6 years ago to be with my now husband. I have a six year old and an eleven month old. I've been a registered nurse since 2006, working in a variety of departments. The bulk of my experience comes from working in the Emergency department for 10+ years. I also have 2 years experience in ICU and Cardiac progressive care. I enjoy taking care of critical patients and I love organized chaos, if there is such a thing. I obtained my Master's degree in nursing education in 2016 but have not pursued teaching until now. It took me a little while to balance work and my personal life. My aspirations are to teach at a college or university. During the early years of my career I taught "nursing care partners," similar to nurses aides in the hospital. For my practicum in nursing education I assisted teaching bachorlette nursing students at Rassmussen College. I'm excited and eager to assist you on your quest for more knowledge. I also obtained my real estate license during the early days of the pandemic and now work part-time in the field. My father is a real estate broker so I've always had an interest and insight into it.....I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
