Hello! My name is Epiphany Adams, and I am a PhD student at Stony Brook University. From the moment I stepped into high school, the former head of my high school's math department told me to consider teaching. I took those words to heart and decided to immerse myself in the tutoring lifestyle fully. I enjoy helping people, whether it's with academics, job or internship assistance, or navigating college. My tutoring style has a wide range because of the diverse students I have worked with and continue to work with. I am very passionate about what I do, and I strive for nothing but greatness and perfect scores for my students. I will work for as long as I need in order for my student to never give up, and I will always motivate them. I will ensure that any tutoring session is as entertaining and informational as possible. My strongest topics are AP Calculus AB, Calculus I, AP Statistics, and essay editing. Diana was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended Cerritos Community College and majored in Economics and accounting while working at Bank of America and a retail shoe store to get her through school. During that time she also earned her Medical Billing certification and was highly involved in the community through Project HOPE, Scholar Honor Society, and as Vice-President of the Business Club. After three years she transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara and became involved in education through The Family Literacy Program where she worked with undocumented elementary students. Her interest in Chicano Studies and education grew thanks to a course on educational barriers and the teachings of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire. Working as an Elementary Teaching Assistant, one special student made her want to become an educator focusing on students with learning disabilities. She switched her major to Psychology to better understand human growth and development. That year she became a research assistant to her professor and worked with at-risk adolescents in a high school in Santa Barbara County. Diana learned about Teach for America that same year and felt that TFA's values and mission were aligned with her own, which brought her to New York City classrooms. She has a newly obtained Masters Degree from Fordham University in Teaching Exceptional Adolescents grades 7-12. She's taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at a middle school in Brooklyn. She has taught Algebra for the past three years and is currently working at a high school in Manhattan. On her spare time she enjoys tutoring any struggling learner in Mathematics. When shes not in the classroom or tutoring, Diana enjoys reading a good book, Sunday brunch, authentic Mexican food, and meeting new friends.

Hi, I'm Faisal.I'm 18 years old and I'm a rising sophomore at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. I'm double majoring in Economics and Finance.Outside of academics, I spend my time working on photography and music.

I'm a senior undergraduate at Yale University studying biomedical engineering and will be starting my Ph.D next year. I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have travelled to a few other countries through study abroad programs and international conferences. I've been to China several times and love to practice my Chinese with others!I love to teach math and science and have served as a math tutor during high school and engineering tutor for two college courses. Some of the most fundamental mathematics to understand are algebra and calculus, so I always seek to tutor these subjects as well as any others in which I am proficient.I enjoy playing musical instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, and clarinet. I also like to powerlift and am always open for a long adventure in the woods!

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors in Education along with my elementary teaching certificate. After graduating in Michigan, I moved to Utah and have been a 6th grade teacher for 4 years at a Title I school. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor are math and ELA along with some science courses. I love working with people, especially children, and seeing the revelation on their faces when they have just learned something new! I have experience in tutoring beginner's level Spanish and high school math. I love the social sciences and I love exploring what it means to educate and receive education! I have worked with students from the ages of 6-17.In my free time, I enjoy playing music and travelling.

I lived in Brazil for 30 years, and for the last 6 years there, I worked as a Reading Interventionist, working one-on-one with K-12 students who were having difficulties with phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

I am widely traveled and have lived and worked in several countries.As well as many years in the classroom, I have extensive experience in education administration and in the corporate arena. For several years, I was vice-president of an educational corporation in New York City.I have taught all aspects of English from primary school level to post-graduate level and have extensive experience in teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). I have been both a vice-principal of a high school and principal of a primary school as well as a Member of The Board of Education (Cayman Islands, Lesser Islands).In The USA, I have experience as a school administrator, classroom teacher (English and ESOL) and have a also taught those subjects to executives in various professions and corporations. Much of my work is also tutoring on a one-to-one basis with native speakers as well as helping foreign students.I was chosen to write the ESOL program for Cunard – White Star Lines to be taught as a study subject for passengers aboard each of their luxury ships. I was a guest lecturer on “The Queen Mary II” on several voyages.I firmly believe that there is no one way to teach. Teaching is a combination of techniques and experiences that have been attained over several years. Each student learns differently. Our responsibilities are to identify the best teaching style for the individual student and to recognize what inspires and acts as an incentive to each student. Our other major responsibility involves teaching learning skills and research skills for whatever level the student has already attained.In my leisure time I still enjoy my passion for language by reading, especially classical literature, drama and poetry. I am personally inspired by the arts in general. I also enjoy music, photography and gardening – as every native English person does.
