My life experiences has taught me that academic success not only comes from the self but also from the support received by others. I am a retired teacher. I taught both public and private school form 25 years. I have a BS in education with a minor in special education for UNT. I have MEd in elementary education from ETSU. I have a MS in counseling from TAMU.I have experience teaching grades K-6. I work well with learning disabilities by adjusting my teaching style to meet the students needs.

I'm a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where I got my Bachelors of Science in Sports Management in 2012 and I have recently gone back to DBU to pursue my Masters as well. Since 2012, I have been tutoring students in Garland ISD from seventh graders to seniors in the AVID program, where we use the Socratic Method to tutor. I normally tutor math and science subjects but my favorite subject to tutor is geometry. To me, geometry is exciting and so much fun which I hope to transfer that same excitement to my all students about math. Outside of tutoring students, I am always on the volleyball court. Whether I am coaching or playing, that is where I love to be.

I used to be an elementary level reading, writing, and math tutor, specifically for kids with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, or autism and I was also a substitute teacher, primarily for elementary-age kids. I have my Bachelor's degree in Political Science, so I am also capable of tutoring up to a high school level in government. I'm really excited to start working with Varsity Tutors, and I hope to hear from you soon!

I hold a B.A. in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology from the University of North Texas and a Masters of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas - Health Science Center. During my time as an undergrad at UNT, I have worked with the local school programs as a tutor for their high school students in grades 9th-12th in Biology and Chemistry as well as being a mentor to my students and helping them with their journey to college. I tutor a broad range of science subjects but I am most passionate about Biochemistry and Biology. During my time on the Varisty platform, I have taught Biochemistry and Biology at undergraduate and graduate levels. I love and enjoy helping my students understand the wonderful world of science and making the learning experience an enjoyable one for them. As a visual and hands-on learner, I am passionate about using different teaching methods and styles with my students. Through my time as a student, the tips and tricks that I've picked up when learning science materials are ones that I pass on to my students to help them grow in their academics.

I have over ten years of experience in higher education student support, to include several years of teaching and tutoring. I love to support students and provide "tricks of the trade" to help them crack the toughest test questions.I believe every student has the potential to learn and that the teaching/learning relationship requires 100% effort from the teacher and student. I am a certified EC-6th Teacher as well as a certified Special Education Teacher EC-12th Grade. I am knowledgeable in all subjects in Elementary school (i.e math, reading, writing, and science).I am a fellow Houstonian who moved in 2019 to Dallas, Texas where I taught at my first charter school. I currently now work at a middle school as a Special Education Teacher for Inclusion students and ELA Fundamentals teacher. I love to make learning fun for students while differentiating instruction for students. I enjoy using technology and multiple strategies to engage students in learning. I strongly believe in the power of education and the ability for students to advocate for their learning.In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, Jamming to music, exploring town, going to brunches, and checking out new spots around the city!
