As a senior at Purdue University getting my BS in Computer Science and Math, I've worked closely with a lot of younger students in intro-level courses. I learned during my time as both a TA and a supplemental instructor in these courses that helping people learn about their potential in a constructive and encouraging environment is something that I really appreciate. As a high school student, I was tutored for almost all four years and I realized the effect that 1-on-1 time has on a student who is either struggling or just needs some focused study time. While this is my first experience being a tutor, I know that I am proficient in teaching math, computer science, Spanish, and exam preparation specifically. My aptitude for teaching these subjects comes from my love of them (especially math), which hopefully I can share with any students that are willing to try. My teaching philosophy is based on communication and understanding the needs of the student before attempting anything. I also prioritize getting to know who the student is as a person and learner. Outside of academia, I find myself binging TV shows, listening to music, practicing music, and spending time with my family and friends over FaceTime.

I taught Civil Engineering Technology to high school students for twelve years. Being a teacher is my lifetime goal. I received my teaching license by completing a career switcher program at Northern Virginia Community College. I teach French at the high school level since 2012.I believe that everybody can learn regardless of his/her culture, race, socioeconomic status, etc. I believe that students' learning styles must be determined to apply the best teaching strategies. By integrating different activities to my lesson, I can develop different teaching strategies to reach "the multiple intelligence" of my students. Teaching must be differentiated in order to reach all students regardless of their abilities or disabilities.During my spare time, I like to read, watch soccer matches, listen to music and walk with my family.

I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University, studying Computer Science in the College of Engineering with a minor in Business. Throughout my high school career, tutoring was a big part of my daily life. As part of the GIVE organization, I tutored both elementary school and middle school students in a variety of subjects, which include math, science, reading and writing. I was also a part of the Math Honor Society and Science Honor Society, where I helped students in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry. I have continued my passion for helping students through the Cornell organization EYES, encouraging young engineers and scientists, where we visit local elementary schools to provide science lessons and experiments. My tutoring style includes coming up with different tactics that are specific to the student that will best help them learn the material. When I have free time, I enjoy traveling, singing, playing my guitar, and trying different types of dance and fitness classes!

I have been teaching in special education for over 15 years, I graduated from Gettysburg College with Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and George Washington University with a Master of the Arts in Special Education for students with Emotional and Behavioral Differences and Early Childhood Special Education. I taught for four years in Fairfax County public schools and had since worked in Early Intervention. I enjoy making learning enjoyable for the learner and I try to make things most hands on as possible (at least in the early stages when children are learning new concepts) as possible. In the past both when learning myself or when teaching others, I have had students use videos games as a start of a point to research history projects, plumbing as was to study geometry and using giant pieces of graph papers write out large math problems (even when using a calculator). I believe that all children can learn and should enjoy learning I try to show them how learning can be fun and how they learn best themselves. Outside of work and in my spare time, I read, make soap, and spend time with my family.

I am a graduate of Arizona State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with honors and completed my pre-medical designation. Since graduation, I have worked on a wide variety of engineering projects, from NASA spacecraft to medical devices. I have also secured acceptance to medical school and am planning to attend next Fall.I am an experienced student in most Math, Science and Engineering specialties, but I am also passionate about English, Literature and History. I greatly enjoy helping others understand difficult subjects and am an avid learner myself. My tutoring style derives primarily from helping friends throughout the years. In my experience, there is almost no subject out of reach of a passionate and curious mind. I therefore strive not just to communicate content, but to instill a passion that will drive self motivated learning.Whether discussing The Great Gatsby or reviewing the Navier Stokes Equations for fluid dynamics, I am excited to share my enthusiasm for learning with a younger generation. I am currently working as a full-time engineer for NASA, but in my free time I enjoy mountain biking, spending time with family and going to museums.
