Ensuring that students of all ages are content with their education, and learn beyond the scope of what is taught in school. I hope to bring creativity and passion into schoolwork.Showing students learning tricks and methods that break the mold of traditional routines that do not improve learning in many students is extremely important to me. I can identify with the confusion and frustration schoolwork brings, and have worked hard to construct innovative tricks that help struggling students.

ACT Math Tutor • +30 Subjects

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin under the McCombs School of Business. I am currently working towards my bachelors in Finance and Mathematics as well as a minor in Computer Science as well. Ever since I was a child, I've always had a deep passion for math and anything analytical. I challenged myself throughout high school by taking the most challenging STEM classes and consistently performed well in them. Due to this, oftentimes I saw myself tutoring my classmates and helping them with their assignments. That is when I realized the only thing I loved more than learning was teaching.I absolutely love helping my students achieve their goals and seeing their eyes light up as they succeed. I pursued my passion for tutoring at my local library by teaching both middle school and high school students in all math classes ranging from Algebra 1 all the way to AP Statistics. I did so for three years and also have experience in online tutoring(in mainly the same subjects).I have consistently performed well in Math classes throughout my schooling career. I have scored perfect scores on all AP Math exams offered in high school and near-perfect scores on both the ACT and SAT Math sections(1 point off in each). The fondness and ability I have in math is something that I believe definitely makes me stand out from other teachers. Combining this skill with my tutoring experience and fondness for helping others has helped me become a tutor that guarantees to provide results for their students.I absolutely love helping the people around me and am very easy to reach out to when needed. I always provide fast responses so feel free to contact me at any time for any additional questions or to schedule a lesson. Looking forward to hear from you guys!

Growing up my mind was filled with questions. Why was the ocean salty but not the Great Lakes? How much does the earth weigh? Although these constant inquiries drove my parents crazy, they ultimately led me to study the Sciences. I could not wait to study Science in high school and hurried home the first day to start reading my textbooks. But there was a problem. The textbooks were not exciting at all. They were also barely comprehensible. Science was taught in a language I did not initially understand. As your tutor, I can help translate the language of Science to one you can understand and master. I can also teach you useful study habits and techniques that will help you succeed in a competitive academic environment. Using real life examples, acronyms, and good study hygiene will make science classes easier than you ever imagined!I developed these study habits and techniques while earning my Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Puget Sound (Seattle). I graduated summa cum laude and was awarded honors in my major. I am a certified tutor in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology. I became a tutor to teach students the tricks I learned and to spend more time with the subjects I love!

Hello! I'm Garrett and I live in Salt Lake City and I want to help you understand topics in natural science and mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree in geological science (geophysics) from University of Colorado Boulder with a minor in mathematics. Part of my success in college came from the preparation I had from taking AP Calculus and Physics courses in high school. I'm a huge fan of visual aids and examining real-life examples and applications when teaching. I worked as a learning assistant in an astronomy lab course and as a tutor for student athletes in geology while attending CU. I've been honing the ability to craft perfect analogies to help you make sense of mathematical or physical concepts.

ACT Reading Tutor • +28 Subjects

Four years ago, I moved across the country to pursue my passion, the academic field of history. I attended UNC-Chapel Hill where I was able to complete a master's thesis in Latin American history and gain valuable experience teaching undergraduate courses as diverse as Latin America since Independence, the Social History of Pop Music in the United States, and World History since 1945. I began with no teaching experience, but my love of the field is what motivated me to connect with my students every week, helping them understand how the past relates to the present, the historical context of world events, and how to develop their skills in writing and analysis. Now that I have returned to my home state of Arizona, I would like to continue connecting with students through education, particularly in history, writing, and language. As a TA, I had the opportunity to teach in a classroom setting as well as meeting with students one-on-one in office hours to assist them on an individual level while understanding their diverse skill sets and learning styles, which is why I will be a great tutor.
