I have been a teacher for a total of 7 and 1/2 years. I first began teaching at a Head Start, starting out as an assistant teacher and moving my way up to a lead teacher. As a Head Start teacher, it was my job to teach students social skills, early literacy skills, and early math and science skills. I loved teaching this age group and only stopped working there in order to further my education. After I decided to go back to school, I worked a substitute teacher. I have experienced subbing in grades 1st through 5th, as well as all Middle School and High School grade levels. I also worked as a lead teacher for a private Pre-K program for 6 months. I worked there until I was hired in the public school system. Currently, I teach kindergarten in for Oklahoma Public Schools. I have taught Kindergarten for 2 years. I work with students on phonics, letter name and sound recognition, recognizing high frequency words, and other emergent reading skills. I also work with them on early math and science skills.I absolutely love to teach. I laugh every single day and learn something new each day. I am experienced with helping student a variety of subject matter, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. What I love about tutoring is that I can help students one-on-one and provide individualized lesson plans specifically for that student. Please contact me to help you with your area of need. I love finding fun and unique lesson plans to help students.

I have been working and managing research and analytics project for the past decade and really have a passion for teaching Statistics and Biostatistics at all levels.I have been an instructor of Business Statistics and SAS at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and the Auckland University of Technology. I was always excited when students came in for office hours as I could more easily check understanding and tailor the learning for each student. I am outgoing and energetic and enjoy finding the unique strengths of each student.I enjoy hiking, biking, stain glass, camping, and piano. I lived in Germany for several years, and am fluent in conversational German. In fact I used to teach German to high school and junior high students. Good luck reaching your goals.

AP Computer Science Principles Tutor • +15 Subjects
My passion for tutoring comes from my passion about the subjects that I tutor, and my love of sharing knowledge and understanding. I have helped friends, classmates, and roommates throughout my schooling. In a more official setting, I have tutored collegiate students in Computer Science and Data Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I also obtained my bachelors in Computer Science in three years. I was the VP of Engineering at the UW Software Development Club, and I have tutored students in Java, Python, C, and a tiny bit in SQL, but my own experience extends to the rest of the C family (C++ and C#) in addition to the web development stack - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My teaching philosophy is that mistakes are how we learn, and I have found that when your view of mistakes shifts to see them as puzzles to be solved, the learning process becomes fun. My tutoring style tends to be visual, hands on, and demonstration based.

I am a student at Madison-Area Technical College. I'm going to be receiving an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Math & Science.I love math and science. It has been interesting to me since I was in elementary school, learning on a Leap Pad. I helped my fellow students with their assignments and really enjoyed helping. Through helping others, I got a better understanding of the subjects myself. My first official tutoring job was at a Kumon Math and Reading Center in Maple Grove. I worked with a variety of kids at different ages and helped them with their Kumon assignments. However, I found the method of teaching at Kumon to be very limiting. Kumon has a specific method that every student must adopt. I believe that every student learns in their own unique way, and it's up to the instructor/tutor to find out what works. That is part of the fun.In my spare time, I'm part of my school's Performance Arts Leadership group. We plan the theater programs for the school. I also perform or help out with the performances. I'm also working on film projects of my own.I hope to help you reach your academic goals!

I have a B.S. in Math, B.S. in Physics and a masters degree in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space sciences. I also work as a professional musician and am a very organized and dedicated freelancer.

6th Grade Math Tutor • +23 Subjects
I am going into my sophomore year at UW Madison. I am planning on majoring in business or statistics. I have been working my kids my whole life from either babysitting, nannying, or being a camp counselor. I have worked with a variety of ages and I am extremely enthusiastic. Some more background about me is that I'm from a suburb of Chicago and I'm a hard core Blackhawks fan. I love lacrosse and field hockey. I played both of them since high school and play on the club field hockey team in Madison. I am a HUGE pet lover as I have a dog of my own.I tutor mathematics for all levels up to Calculus. I have always enjoyed math since I was in elementary school and I love helping others out. One of the best feelings in the world is seeing a student finally understand a subject or a concept after a lot of hard work. I believe anything is possible with some patience. I absolutely live by the phrase slow and steady wins the race. I will make sure every student I work with will understand every subject down to the tee, no matter how long it takes. I love to get to know my students and look forward to meeting everyone I work with!

ACT English Tutor • +33 Subjects
Hello, I am Chloe, and I am passionate about all things English! I have been teaching English at a South Korean kindergarten for the past several months, and I was TEFL certified as of October 2016. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2016 with a BA in English Literature and a certificate in Global Cultures. I'd love to help with any ACT/AP English prep, as well as any other English-related teaching services required. I believe learning works best when the subject becomes relevant for the student, not just as something they "have" to learn, but as something that can help make life worthwhile. Learning should be a joy, not a chore!

College Physics Tutor • +11 Subjects
I've recently graduated from UW-Madison with a physics degree. I come from humble beginnings. Having started at a community college in Florida and later working my way up to a top 20 school, I know what's it's like to start with seemingly no aptitude in math or physics. I eventually became confident enough in my abilities to want to pursue the field (physics) as a career, you might too. It takes hard work, patient guidance from mentors, and often times a certain shift in perspective. I'm here to aid in the latter two. I hope that after working with me, you have a greater appreciation for and comfort with math and science.
