I also write editorials for High Faluter, a startup publication based in Chicago, IL, about education, music, and culture. Language Arts and English are prevalent subjects that everyone uses - and has used for centuries - on a daily basis. We as humans can't help but create language, share stories and cultures, and learn about our history through the literature that our ancestors have left behind. I have tutored English for over 7 years. I am a great tutor because I love the subject I teach, am very passionate about literature, and I am a very patient, friendly person.

I love seeing the lightbulb turn on when someone is able to understand something they have been struggling with. We all learn differently and at different paces. I'm currently finishing up my MS in microbiology and working as a surgical neurophysiologist. I am a current undergraduate student at Trevecca Nazarene University studying film/TV production, dramatic arts, and journalism. I work with the writing center on my campus where I tutor students as they write academic papers. Because I'm deeply immersed in the world of education, I am able to bring current knowledge and help to the students I tutor. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing, literature, English, and philosophy. I've taken the ACT, SAT, and 4 CLEP tests. I love to implement creative activities with students I tutor, because it makes the content more memorable for them. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, and going to the local theater.

I am a sophomore at Vanderbilt University in the College of Arts and Sciences, and I hope to graduate with bachelor's degrees in chemistry and English.I like to work with motivated students. I understand that, while test scores are an insufficient measure of a student's capability, high test scores can open a lot of doors in the college application process, and I want to see those doors open for my students. As I understand it, the best way to improve test scores is to do as many practice problems as possible. However, in standardized-test-taking there are many ways to work smarter, not harder. I like to work with students on pattern recognition and breaking down problems to their smallest component parts to make each problem more intuitive than the last.

I have Pre-Calculus - Calculus III tutoring experience and have taught College Algebra.
