I have been a math teacher for 10 years; I love math and I love teaching!I totally get it: for most people, the end-goal of studying math isn't to become a mathematician or to fall deeply in love with division and derivatives.For most people, math is just a tool that they need to use (or study) to achieve a goal (becoming a doctor) or to accomplish a task (figuring out how much paint you need to paint that funny shaped room).So, I don't expect my students to love math because of its inherent beauty. They might, who knows? I just want to help them use math to achieve their own goals.

Hello!I am a graduate of University of Illinois with a Master's in Entomology (study of insects) and University of Connecticut in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I've been involved in research of how unnamed species are related to one another using DNA sequencing of genes (called systematics) for my undergraduate and graduate career, and hence I am very strong in biology, genetics, microbiology and ecology. My passion in science lies in the implementation of modern DNA sequencing technology to study genes and genomes, especially to advance the field of medicine.I have experience tutoring students through the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates program, and I also served for approximately a year as a tutor for Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL, teaching anatomy and physiology, microbiology, general biology, and algebra.I hope to help students with a wide variety of subjects in science and math, especially biology and genetics!

In addition to teaching, I've directed multiple productions at the High School level and helped to develop a Visual and Performing Arts Program.As a tutor, I'm most passionate about Literature and Writing. Paul has traveled extensively in Europe and maintains close ties with friends and colleagues in many European countries.In November 2009 he was granted Italian citizenship and now has dual citizenship with the USA and Italy. Paul received the Ordre des Palmes Acadmiques, an honor given by the French government to recognize individuals who have made notable contributions to French education and culture.
