My degree provided me with a strong foundation in chemistry and biology; my courses emphasized the brain's biological and chemical processes and how these processes relate to human behavior. A family friend asked me to help her son, who was struggling with seizures and missing class a lot for doctors appointments, catch up with his Algebra 2 class. My best day as a tutor was when one of my Pre-Calculus students told me that not only did he pass his final exam, but he moved up an entire letter grade in the class. During the holidays, I love to travel and explore different cultures :) I primarily teach by using a lot of visuals, as I believe this is the best way to retain information; however, every student is different and I will make every effort to employ a teaching method that caters to the individual.

Although I love literature and writing, I am most passionate about tutoring math. My favorite math topic is algebra, particularly because of its usefulness in solving real-world word problems.
