I graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Since graduating, I have changed fields and am now working towards my PhD in Neuroscience with the goal of becoming a research scientist. I have previously tutored college students in the Chemistry Help Center at Nassau Community College, as well as frequently helping classmates in my science classes with any questions that come up prior to an exam. I tutor many science subjects, including chemistry, biology, and mathematics. My favorite subjects to tutor are chemistry and biology, as they relate most closely to my own area of study, which allows me to use my own knowledge of real world applications of the material to increase the student's interest in a given topic. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching soccer, playing strategy-based video games and board games, and reading books.

I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in German from Utah State University, with minors in Latin, Linguistics and Music Performance. During my studies I began tutoring other university students of all levels in both German and Latin. Assisting language students has been a joy for me since the beginning, and an endeavor I have been eager to continue pursuing. There's something unique and inherently wonderful about the ability to express thoughts in multiple languages. Often times there is no translatable comparison, and it's through these discoveries that I have been able to truly understand a seemingly foreign culture. I am also an accomplished pianist with a classical background, and very much enjoy teaching piano to students of any level. As an undergraduate teaching assistant for college level Music Theory and Keyboard Harmony courses over multiple semesters, I am also happy to teach musical interpretation and theoretically informed performance practice.In the near future I plan to return to formal studies in the field of Linguistics to earn a Doctorate, and in the interim I have begun teaching myself computer science and programming languages. In this modern technocentric world, I hope to study the meeting of these two fields.

I earned a Bachelor in Spanish and in Sociology at The State University At Albany , and two Certificates of Teaching English as a Second language for tourism in Colombia. I also studied Spanish at Universidad de Costa Rica. In addition, I received intensive orientation and pedagogical training in the city of Bogota under the instruction of renowned teacher-training institute NICA (Institucin Universitaria Colombo Americana) .I have taught Spanish and French at the High School level. I also offered Haitian Creole , English, Spanish and French in small groups and online. I independently planned and taught ESL classes to tourism service providers in Cartagena, Colombia.In my classes, I will share my culture with you and I will enjoy learning from your culture also. I am persistent and I will always try to give you extra help outside of class if it's needed. Being able to help someone, sharing knowledge with an individual and seeing the progress made by my students make me love tutoring.Passionate about teaching I have traveled extensively, tutoring high school , college students and adults in Haiti, Costa Rica and in Colombia for the Travel For Change program; adults and young people looking to improve their language skills ; While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Haitian Creole, Spanish, culture and History. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to Soca , dancing , playing soccer, learning new languages , watching anime, traveling when I can and I would like to start with zumba.

I'm an adjunct English professor at Fordham University, and I have my MFA in Young Adult Literature from The New School. I love helping students develop their own writing voice and teaching them the kind of writing skills that can help them on the SATs and beyond. I have experience working with middle, high school and college students on SAT prep, college writing and creative writing. When I'm not teaching, I'm a young adult writer and I enjoy taking dance classes, doing improv and sketch comedy and running in 5K races

Grab your magnifying glass, and pour over the dictionary. This type of curiosity has followed me into adulthood. I'm a full-blown Wikipedian.My rsum goes beyond tutoring. From grant proposals to album reviews, I've been published across disciplines. I've spent two years writing and editing for literary magazines. I've hosted a radio show focusing on philosophy and hip-hop. I've studied in Richmond, Pittsburgh, Salamanca, and Valparaiso.I believe tutoring happens on a case-by-case basis. I personalize each lesson, so whether your child learns through close-reading and marginalia, or through pneumonic devices and word games, we will find a way to a lesson that sticks.
