I have been in education since 2003 and taught in the public school system for the last 16 years as a classroom teacher, and 4 years abroad in China and Thailand. I received my Bachelor's from Texas State University, Teaching Certificates through Huston-Tillotson University, and Master's Degree from Capella University. During my time in undergraduate study, I led a number of peer study groups for courses in the natural sciences, including organic chemistry, microbiology, human anatomy, and physiology. I have additionally acted as a private tutor in preparing high school students for entry into the IB German SL course. I am currently tutoring a number of subjects, of which German, high school and college level Biology, Anatomy and Physiology are my most favorite. My style of tutoring consists of two major principles: that both tutor and student meet each other halfway in the process of learning and that using visual aids (charts, diagrams, drawings, etc) and encouraging students to make their own by hand is an excellent of learning and understanding new material. I challenged myself throughout high school by taking the most challenging STEM classes and consistently performed well in them. Due to this, oftentimes I saw myself tutoring my classmates and helping them with their assignments. That is when I realized the only thing I loved more than learning was teaching.I absolutely love helping my students achieve their goals and seeing their eyes light up as they succeed.
