I am a graduate of Texas A&M University, where I received a BS in Biology. The courses I took to earn this degree were chosen to prepare myself for a career in the health sciences. During my time in undergraduate study, I led a number of peer study groups for courses in the natural sciences, including organic chemistry, microbiology, human anatomy, and physiology. I have additionally acted as a private tutor in preparing high school students for entry into the IB German SL course. I am currently tutoring a number of subjects, of which German, high school and college level Biology, Anatomy and Physiology are my most favorite. My style of tutoring consists of two major principles: that both tutor and student meet each other halfway in the process of learning and that using visual aids (charts, diagrams, drawings, etc) and encouraging students to make their own by hand is an excellent of learning and understanding new material. Additionally, I am very passionate about the subjects I tutor, and feel that if a student can develop curiosity or interest in the subject, it will greatly aid their ability to master the material.

CFP Tutor • +2 Subjects

I received my bachelor's in 2019 from Texas Tech University's nationally renowned School of Financial Planning during my time there, I formally tutored students taking financial planning courses and began studying for my CFP, which I received in 2021.Teaching and serving others have always been passions of mine, which is what drew me to the field of financial planning in the first place. I have been tutoring for nearly a decade, and for several years I have been exclusively tutoring the CFP. Everyone learns differently, and I love getting to know my students and charting their best course of success with each of them. I've partnered with first-time testers and re-testers alike; whatever your situation, we can find a strategy that is unique to you and your needs. We'll start with a study calendar that charts out your time to the exam, and how best to utilize your time based on your circumstances, learning style, and needs. Whether you need a sounding board to confirm your understanding, visual aids, practice quizzes, or mini lessons, we'll find the strategies that get you to your "ah-ha" moment! I also dedicate time to test-taking techniques, including those specifically for the CFP, that increase odds of student's success.I would love to take some time to meet you and learn more about where you are in your CFP journey! If you have any questions or would like to learn more about what our partnership would look like, don't hesitate to contact me so we can put together an introductory meeting so we can see if we would be a good fit.

After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, I spent the next 15 years in the Engineering industry, working as a Heat Transfer Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Project Manager. Throughout my college years, and shortly afterwards, I tutored several students in subject areas of math and physics. For me, there is nothing more personally rewarding that seeing the mental "light bulb" turn on in a students eyes when they grasp a difficult concept for the first time. My tutoring philosophy is to teach concepts, rather than focusing on memorization. Concepts are best grasped via a methodical, logical, and consistent approach to problem solving. As such, my favorite subjects to tutor are most math classes (elementary math, all algebra levels, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, statistics); and science classes (physical science, physics and astronomy). I am also available to tutor Mechanical and Industrial Engineering courses. Some of my personal hobbies include playing golf, collecting coins, astronomy and astrophotography, and stock trading. I look forward to helping you or your child excel in the classroom!

Texas has been my home for twenty-five years. I was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but moved to Round Rock, Texas after serving in the U.S. Navy. I hold a teaching certificate in Texas and Kentucky and have over ten years of experience teaching Spanish and French in both states.I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish and a B.A. in French and Spanish.Learning a language involves many skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Sometimes, grammar may be a stumbling block. Sometimes, it's reading comprehension. Or a student may need extra practice to prepare for AP exams I tailor tutoring sessions to fit the skill level of each student. In addition to Spanish and French, I tutor in Writing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics. I am multi-published (young adult novels, short stories, biographies, and translations). Over the years, I have coached many new writers, both adults and young adults. In my free time (when I'm not writing), I like to swim, read, and play backgammon. I have three grown children, two cats, and two dogs.

ACT Math Tutor • +30 Subjects

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin under the McCombs School of Business. I am currently working towards my bachelors in Finance and Mathematics as well as a minor in Computer Science as well. Ever since I was a child, I've always had a deep passion for math and anything analytical. I challenged myself throughout high school by taking the most challenging STEM classes and consistently performed well in them. Due to this, oftentimes I saw myself tutoring my classmates and helping them with their assignments. That is when I realized the only thing I loved more than learning was teaching.I absolutely love helping my students achieve their goals and seeing their eyes light up as they succeed. I pursued my passion for tutoring at my local library by teaching both middle school and high school students in all math classes ranging from Algebra 1 all the way to AP Statistics. I did so for three years and also have experience in online tutoring(in mainly the same subjects).I have consistently performed well in Math classes throughout my schooling career. I have scored perfect scores on all AP Math exams offered in high school and near-perfect scores on both the ACT and SAT Math sections(1 point off in each). The fondness and ability I have in math is something that I believe definitely makes me stand out from other teachers. Combining this skill with my tutoring experience and fondness for helping others has helped me become a tutor that guarantees to provide results for their students.I absolutely love helping the people around me and am very easy to reach out to when needed. I always provide fast responses so feel free to contact me at any time for any additional questions or to schedule a lesson. Looking forward to hear from you guys!
