I always loved school, even when I needed tutoring. I am a firm believer that it's never too late to learn, and seeking extra help goes a long way in shaping who we grow up to be.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Management and Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Master's of Education degree from Grand Canyon University. I am currently licensed by Nevada for K-5 and teach a first grade class. I am able and willing to tutor other ages. I believe that every child can learn. I further believe in providing appropriate scaffolding and differentiated instruction tailored to each unique student. I strive to provide learning activities that appeal to each individual's learning styles and interests.

I love helping students because I believe that everyone can succeed academically. Our weaknesses do not define us, and everyone can work on something they struggle with and be able to succeed. I am a Junior in college, working towards my Bachelor's Degree in History, and then work at my Law degree. I tutor American History, AP World History and Test prep. My favorite subjects to tutor is American History and Chinese History. American History can still be seen in American life today, and China is one of the oldest countries to study. I have a very encouraging and introspective learning style, where I will give students advice to study and perfect their skills, but allow them to think thoughtfully about what they did that did not work and what they should do next time.

One of my goals in life is to encourage and facilitate space for lifelong learning. I have spent the past 10 years building my educational experience so that I am better able to accommodate the diverse experiences of all learners.

I have been passionate about teaching to young students ever since I had my first child. I love to see children grow and listen to the stories they tell. I decided to get a TESOL certification and teach to students in different countries. It has been an amazing experience and I feel that I learn so much every time I teach.

In order to pursue my passion for learning, I chose to study philosophy during my time at Colorado College. Philosophy gave me the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in the wide variety of courses that made up my liberal arts education. Upon graduating, I used those skills to further pursue another passion of mine, rock climbing. I worked as a climbing guide, bringing people from all walks of life into my world and out of their comfort zones. I learned how to gently push people past their fears. I learned how to use a combination of encouragement and technical knowledge to help people reach their goals. I learned how to read people and find the roots of their struggles. Through this, I could discover the best way to approach each individual and create a plan of action that worked best for their unique needs. Through all of this, I learned of my passion for teaching. I went on to start tutoring students and combined both the critical thinking skills and technical knowledge from my degree in philosophy with the teaching skills that I learned from guiding climbing. I worked with students in a variety of subjects from math, to history, to writing. In every subject, I was able to help lead my students into developing their own critical thinking skills. I also encountered some of the same fear that I saw from people 100 feet up a rock face. I used my guiding experience to help one student overcome what had become a debilitating and illogical fear of math in order for her to pass a college placement test (which she had failed many times previously) so that she could go on to pursue her own passion of fashion design. Through all of my experiences, I have continued to pursue my passion for learning, and I hope to cultivate a similar passion in each of my students.

I strive to help others learn by presenting information in a new light, experimenting with different methods of learning, and tracing back difficulties to their roots. I hope to make education less stressful and more accessible to students who are struggling or just need that extra help.

I have been tutoring for the last 8 years for students of all ages- from elementary to college! I am proficient in writing, essay editing, reading comprehension, and most areas that fall under the Social Studies category, including government and politics. I look forward to sharing my passion for learning with you!

Hi! I'm Andreea, and I'm a sophomore undergraduate Vocal Performance Major at University of Nevada, Las Vegas! I have taken numerous music theory, opera, voice, and diction classes! I also have a strong love for English and other languages, such as Italian! Additionally, I have experience in a variety of vocal and operatic ensembles and have maintained leadership positions in many of them, including Section Leader and Student Conductor! I am most passionate about teaching music, as this is the subject that gets me out of bed in the morning (seriously!), but I would love to teach a greater variety of subjects! I am a large advocate for finding a balance with school, reflection, and rest! Students should feel challenged but know when to take a step back to reassess. I am here to help students on their academic or musical ventures while encouraging them to maintain a healthy life balance.

The key most important factor that I have found being an educator for 17 years, is a connection must be formed between educator and student in order for any type of information to be retained. Should you choose me as a tutor, be prepared to make that connection!
