I am an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis studying Finance, Computer Science, and Business Analytics. I used to be a member of the Men's Soccer Team here at WashU but had to leave the team due to injury, and now I want to spend some of my new free time helping to teach stats, math, or help with ACT prep because I am very passionate about learning and the college decision process.

I graduated from high school as salutatorian and graduated from Saint Louis University as a Biology major while taking a multitude of Psychology classes, I believe I have the knowledge and skill set to guide students in whatever areas they are struggling with, while providing study tools and techniques they'll be able to utilize throughout their entire educational career. If students have any sort of interest in the health care field, I would have be able to give them advice from my perspective, having completed my first year at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and currently doing research in Immunology and Interventional Radiology.

I am recent graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an Emphasis in Mathematics. I absolutely love mathematics and truly enjoy helping others learn it. My passion is really in education and helping students master mathematical content. I have been tutoring ever since I have been taking math classes and have tutored students of all ages. From elementary students to college students, I have always had fun in my tutoring sessions and we have consistently made strides in a positive direction. I believe that education is the key to success and I try to make this belief a life-long impression on all of my students. I am a graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and received my undergraduate Bachelor of Science in History from Kansas State University. Both while at K-State and in law school, I tutored high school and college students in History, Writing, and English Literature. I focus on approaching these topics with a holistic attitude, tying history to the present and reading/writing to applicable life skills. While I still tutor in these subjects (and love working with students in them), I also am passionate about helping students who are planning on entering law school with improving their LSAT performance. I believe that with any standardized test, the key is to eliminate the fear factor by prepping for the unknown. Through practice and learning key techniques, I work with students to replace that fear with a strong belief in their own preparedness. When I am not working, I am a voracious reader, a fisherman, and a bit of a movie nut. I also like to work with my hands and can often be found working on a project at a local woodshop.

I am a microbiologist by training with a passion for science, learning, and teaching. I received my B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston (CofC) in 2009. It was here at CofC that I began tutoring both introductory biology and organic chemistry courses. After a year of tutoring I became a Supplemental Instruction Leader for biology and chemistry courses at CofC. The Supplemental Instruction sessions were essentially large-scale tutoring events held once a week that I believe provided an optimal training experience. After college, I pursued graduate level training in Biomedical Sciences at The Ohio State University (OSU). In 2015, I received my Ph.D. from the College of Medicine at OSU in Biomedical Sciences with a special emphasis in Microbial Pathogenesis. During graduate school I fell in love with the field of microbiology and subsequently joined a laboratory dedicated to studying bacterial pathogenesis or how bacteria cause disease. I was also a guest lecturer for a laboratory techniques course as well as a mentor to a high school student for eight weeks. During this eight-week period, I taught and mentored my student to become proficient and independent in a research setting while also learning basic biological and microbiological principles. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research associate at Washington University School of Medicine. I continue to utilize concepts and techniques from biology, molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry to better understand the mechanisms bacteria utilize to cause human disease.Outside of the lab, I spend my time with my fianc who I met in biology class at CofC. We love camping and hiking and we both have a passion for the beach, especially, the coastal area of South Carolina. Our dream is to own water front property in Charleston, South Carolina enjoying the Southern lifestyle. I like to stay fit by running and really enjoy playing the guitar. My career goal is to be a part of team that develops new therapeutic treatment strategies to combat multidrug resistant bacterial infections.

I have experience teaching summer school math to grade school and high school students along with private tutoring. I am most comfortable in tutoring math subjects but can also tutor science classes and the ACT.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry at University of Missouri- St. Louis. I have volunteered as a tutor for the past four years through a program called Urban Future. During this experience, I tutored below grade level middle school students on strengthening mathematical skills. I enjoyed making a difference in students’ lives and watching their grades improve. I tutor life science, biology, arithmetic, elementary math, middle school math, and pre-algebra. Science and math are my favorite subjects to tutor because they can be difficult, and I can relate to students who are frustrated with the subjects. I believe my patience makes me a great tutor because I am willing to try different approaches to explain difficult topics to struggling students until they comprehend. I am extremely passionate about both science and math, and I would love to help students reach their goals in these subjects.
