I earned my Bachelors of Science in Business Management from St. Gregory's University in Oklahoma. I have 14 years experience in the health care industry. In 2015, I decided I wanted to change careers and become a certified teacher. I am certified in mild-moderate (special education) PK-12th grade. I am currently studying towards a Masters of Education with a specialization in Special Education from Northcentral University. I plan to add US/Oklahoma History/Government/Economics and English Language Arts to my teaching certificate.My educational philosophy is to make my teaching relevant and meaningful to the learner; that the learner will become more engaged in their learning. I teach 8th Grade US History, Spanish 3, AP Microeconomics, and Economics. I very much enjoy spending time with them when I am able to return home. I am also an avid sports fan and follow my teams passionately. I am currently working towards school receiving my Bachelor's of Liberal Studies at the University of Phoneix. I have completed some Early Childhood Education Units after high school at Santa Monica College. Since then I have worked with children ages 0-14. I have been a Nanny, Preschool Teacher, Camp Counselor, Art Teacher, Fashion Design Teacher (I got my certification in high school to be a garment tailor), Before and After School Tutor (all subjects), and Reading Tutor. I love putting the fun in fundamental with my teaching, I am very creative and love doing things outside of the box. I am currently tutoring Elementary Math and Reading, Math, Reading, and English. I put an emphasis on teaching reading especially to younger children because it is so vital in life to be able to read concepts, understand them and comprehend them. I was able to read at 4 years old and I remember the joy I would experience beginning a new book and escaping into my own world.

I am a former elementary teacher in Oklahoma, I chose a career in the tutoring business because I want to help students of all ages realize their full potential. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. It's not boring. Really! I like to teach and talk about U.S. History, Economics, and U.S. Government. In fact, ALL of those fit together. don't they?? I believe our history helps explain how and why things are the way they are today. When people say "How did this happen?" or "Why do we do it this way"? or "the Electoral College...?", I want to talk about it and explain how it happened, or why we do it, or what the Electoral College is all about. Yes, I watch the News (too much) and try to figure out what's going on - and why. They Why is important! I'll enjoy working with students and talking through important issues of the day.

I am a kind, loving, and patient person who finds joy in teaching and in learning. I am currently a second grade teacher at a French immersion school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I find contentment in being able to help students acquire a new language and become fluent in writing and in speaking French. Throughout my studies at Oral Roberts University, I learned to go into every person's world, to meet them where they are and to bring out the best in them. Also throughout my teaching career, I have had the wonderful opportunity to help students whose reading and math skills were inferior improve their skills and gain self-confidence. My desire is to be able to transfer the knowledge I have to both children and adults. I believe that there is no end in knowledge, and as long as we are still breathing we can gain wisdom and understanding every single day of our lives.
