I am currently a student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. I completed my bachelor's degree in Film Production from Emerson College in 2007. Before returning to school, I taught high school students with emotional and learning disabilities in a variety of subjects, including math and science. I also spent a year in AmeriCorps, where I was a residential counselor for students in a residential academic program here in Baltimore.There's no one right way to learn and I believe students are most successful when their instructor is able to meet them where they are. I enjoy helping students identify their strengths, which not only helps me tailor my sessions to their specific needs, but also provides encouragement for learners who may feel disengaged or dispirited. Often times, this means that we not only work on learning specific subjects, but also improving study and organizational skills.When I'm not at school or working, I enjoy skiing, reading, camping, and hanging out with my pug Quinn.

This past spring I was a lecturer at Gettysburg College, teaching two sections of the non-majors course "Biological Basis of Disease". I received my PhD in biology in 2014 from the Johns Hopkins University. I completed my dissertation work in the lab of Dr. Joel Schildbach. I was a 2012-2013 Dean's Teaching Fellow in the Biology Department at Johns Hopkins University. Last fall, I was a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University, teaching the freshman only seminar "The Human Microbiome".This course was a modified version of the course I taught as a Dean's Teaching Fellow. I have also been a teaching assistant for various other courses, including Biochemistry, the freshman only lab course Phage Hunters, and others. I have tutored for graduate level biophysics, and been involved with teaching or tutoring for the past 4 years.

I am Masters degree holder in Finance from Johns Hopkins University . I have also taught and tutored the same in my Grad School. Overall, I have a year long experience in tutoring. I enjoy teaching as I find it very liberating.I specialize in Quantitative Methods, Finance, Accounting and Application of Programming software in Finance. I'm a very friendly, outgoing person and always try to create a rapport with my students before teaching. When I left Germany and came to the United States for college, I became certified to tutor Calculus I and the German language at Johns Hopkins University through their student-to-student tutoring service, "The Learning Den."Tutoring has been such a joy of mine because of the students I've been able to work with. Working together to get through a tough concept or problem is made totally worthwhile when the student then says, "Ok, let me do this next one on my own. I've got this." That's when I know knowledge has truly been shared, and that both the student and I have done our jobs.When I'm not tutoring, I love to be outside! You can find me either running on the beach in the summer or snowboarding on the slopes in the winter.
