I am currently a rising senior at the University of Kentucky. I am working towards my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in math and neuroscience. I have been tutoring students from elementary to high school for four years in math. I enjoy working with students, of course to provide academic support, but also to build an environment that encourages them to think outside the box and feel comfortable in doing so. I do tutor high school chemistry, but my primary focus is on various levels of math. From my experience, teaching mathematical concepts can be challenging without being able to adapt to the strengths of weaknesses of every individual. I believe it is crucial that students are given an opportunity to learn that adheres to their individual characteristics. Aside from academia, I enjoy staying physically active, volunteering throughout my community, and being a huge sports fanatic.

I am most passionate about teaching anything within the Arts (e.g. Literature), French language and culture, and the purer side of Mathematics, where the abstractions of numbers give us the freedom to do with them what we will. I also love helping students work their way through the daunting task of preparing for standardized tests. I have often found that my past students have gotten tangled in the problems that have been set out for them, and I have always found success in teaching the conceptual framework behind these problems, so that they learn to find solutions by whatever means they prefer. As indicated by my degrees at the beginning, I am incredibly passionate about film and film studies I am a huge movie buff. But perhaps the most important thing I can say about myself is that I don't believe that any subject is out of reach for any student. It's just about finding a way through the jargon to something that makes sense.

I am a graduate of Western Kentucky University, having received my Master of Science degree in Mathematics with a computational focus. I have multiple years of experience teaching mathematics in both classroom and one-on-one settings.

I am pursuing a B.S. degree in Neuroscience at the University of Kentucky that I will successfully complete in the Fall of 2020. I have tutored a wide range of students, both my peers and younger, in mostly STEM related fields. Although I tutor in a few different subjects, the subjects I am most passionate about are College level Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. Learning about a difficult topic may seem challenging at times, but I believe that everyone has the ability and motivation to successfully tackle difficult concepts with some help!

I am a graduate of UofL with a BS degree in Biochemistry and minor in Biology, heading to medical school at UVA this fall. I have spent 5 semesters as a teaching assistant for the Chemistry Department, spending three semesters teaching general chemistry and two semesters teaching organic chemistry. I have also spent a year as a small-group tutor, helping individual students through tough chemistry topics. While I have a strong background in biology, I am most passionate about tutoring chemistry I love its order, set in rules and mathematics. Outside of academics, I spend my time outdoors, bouldering, or playing couch co-op video games.

I am most passionate about helping students excel in reading and writing. I try to make my tutoring sessions as conversational as possible; I believe that both student and tutor should learn together. What I hope to achieve in my sessions is instilling confidence in my students. When students feel confident in themselves, they will be prepared to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

I am a current junior at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Upon my graduation in 2022, I will be dual majoring in Environmental Studies and Asian Studies with a focus in Chinese. I received the Chinese language scholarship, as well. I have tutored students in Chinese ranging from middle school level through college level. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Chinese, English, and essay editing. My tutoring style is kind and patient, and I do my best to make every lesson engaging and entertaining. I am passionate about helping students, specifically when they are learning a language, because I want students to have the confidence to use a language that could be vastly different from the one's their friends and parents may have studied. This confidence will carry them forward in not only studying said language, but other areas of study, as well. In my spare time, I love to read YA and fantasy books, create wire sculptures, play tennis, and watch movies with my family. Hobbies: reading, music, writing, art, movies, books

I am a junior communication sciences and disorders major at Brescia University in Owensboro Kentucky. My current G.P.A. is a 3.78. I am involved on campus and I am a student leader of multiple organizations. I am also member of the Alpha Chi Honors Society at my University. Some of my tutoring experience includes tutoring elementary and middle school students. I also have volunteered to help tutor at the local refugee center. Something that I feel will help me with tutoring is that growing up with a learning disability I had to learn to adapt my studying techniques to best fit me as well as learned persistence. I know how frustrating it can me to struggle in something and I want to be that to guide you to do your best. I like to adjust my tutoring techniques to specifically around my clients to help them improve. I hope you consider me to be your tutor because I would love to help you the ways many others have helped me in the past.
