About Me

I have been a middle school and high school educator for over 10 years. I received a B.A. from Colorado State University in Engligh Education and recently finished my Masters in Urban Education from U.M.K.C.I was an 8th grade Literature teacher for English Langaguage Learners for 6 years in San Francisco before moving back home to Kansas City. The last 4 years, I have taught Literature in a local, alternative high school. I absolutely love teaching and learning. I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of students. I am skilled at teaching the basics, such as phonetics, to the more advanced, such as college essays. In my free time, I play in a local bluegrass band and am often found running along the streets of KC as I like to train for races around the country. In the summers, I travel back to California and work as a white, water rafting guide down the American River.
