About Me

I am an educator and writer from Greensboro, North Carolina. Whether you or your child is hoping to improve a verbal score on a standardized test, start application essays, get help with summer reading assignments, or anything in between, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be your tutor! After graduating from the Early College at Guilford, I moved to the Midwest to study at the University of Iowa, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in English with minors in Philosophy and Spanish. I then became a Teach for America Corps Member and spent two years teaching 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English in Hammond, Indiana, in addition to beginning work for Varsity Tutors. In 2018, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with my Master's degree in Education. I also received my certification for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) before moving to Madrid, Spain, where I spent a 10 months teaching English as a Language Assistant. Now that I'm back home in Greensboro, I'm excited to teach a podcasting class for middle schoolers and begin work again with Varsity Tutors! I am passionate about literature and literacy education, and I hope to pass some of this enthusiasm to you or your child. Happy studying! I look forward to hearing from you.
