About Me

My teaching philosophy is, first and foremost, getting the student interested in the subject, and then moving on to the particular area in which they are struggling. Everything is interesting! Each student requires specifically tailored ways in which to engage their interest. As a writing and philosophy tutor in college, I would quickly assess the most compelling piece of information, and then continue to work on what they are struggling with. Writing is often puzzling, and I have solved many puzzles! I am a recent graduate of Knox College, with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Creative Writing. I was one course away from graduating with a double major in English Literature, but I chose to focus on my Philosophy Studies. I earned an award for my Philosophical writing through the Illinois Philosophical Association in 2016.
