About Me

I have worked as a teaching assistant since 2015, helping students struggling in class get the extra push they need to succeed. I have also tutored students at my school and volunteered at my local Boys and Girls club. I have tutored students in subjects ranging from Calculus to Chemistry to Language Arts, but I specialize in teaching Math and Science. As a tutor, I love to see students improve themselves, and I strive to create those "aha!" moments when everything begins to make sense. When I teach, I find it is most effective to find out how a student approaches a problem and rationalize it in their mind. Although memorization is necessary at times, it is better to learn how a concept is derived from other ideas to truly make the knowledge your own.
