About Me

I am a graduate of The University of Tennessee where I received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I also have an MBA from Tennessee Tech University and am a CPA. Outside of my academic accomplishments, I have worked in a Fortune 200 Energy company within its Finance and Accounting functions and have worked for a global healthcare company that is ranked 258 on the Forbes Global 2000 list performing various financial and accounting leadership roles. Most of my current work includes financial modeling and controlling for a global IT project, while running the FP&A function for our domestic HR Team and assisting our operations team with various types of financial analysis. I would say that I am most passionate about teaching CPA prep, Accounting, and Finance, as I have found so much practical use out of those subjects in my daily life. I practice Accounting and Finance every single day when building financial models and supervising my co-workers, some of whom are new to this subject matter. I enjoy helping people who are either students or early in their careers not only understand the subject matter they are trying to learn but also helping them understand how that knowledge can help them in their careers. This translates well to helping students prepare for the CPA exam, learning advanced financial modeling techniques, as well as basic finance and accounting. I believe that education, next to health, is the most important thing in someone's life as it opens doors to so many opportunities. In my spare time, I enjoy vigorous exercise, world travel, and I am an avid college football fan.
