About Me

I am a retired teacher, linguist - I speak 3 languages (English, Portuguese, and Spanish), wife, and mom of 5 amazing children. I was born and raised in the USA, spending most of my life in sunny south Florida, our family decided to move to Louisiana last year and we love it here. I have been a tutor (from young children to adults) for over 20 years. I was a certified teacher for 10 years. I have certifications in Elementary Education (K-6), Special Education (K-12), Pre-K ESE, as well as endorsements in Reading and in ESOL. I am a proud University of Miami alumni and have a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education. I am TESOL certified (120 hours).I have taught everything from preschool through adult learners. I have taught gifted students, general education students, ESOL, and special education students. I love teaching and interacting with children of all ages and abilities. Each and every one of us has a purpose in this world. Teaching has allowed me to be a witness and guide students into discovering their interests, passions, and abilities.
