About Me

My name is Chris, EMT-Paramedic, Ph.D. and I teach the CTE-Public Safety courses in high school. In addition, I teach the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programs at Athens Drive Magnet High School. Both the EMR and EMT programs are challenging, both academically and physically. I completed my EMT-Basic as a duel enrolled HS senior in 1988 (I took my NC EMT-Basic exam the Day of my Senior Prom) EMT for the 1988 Iron Man Triathlon in Hawaii 5 years volunteering with Orange County Rescue Squad 27 years career Paramedic with multiple EMS agencies and 7 of those years with a Critical Care agency 18 years serving as an EMS ChaplainEMS Certifications:North Carolina EMT-Paramedic North Carolina OEMS Level II EMT-P Certified Intensive Care Provider (CICP) AHA Healthcare Provider (BCLS) AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Prehospital Trauma life support (PHTLS).I still ride a truck as an EMT-Paramedic with ACCESS Care Critical Care Services.
