About Me

As an educator with two decades of experience in the classroom, I thoroughly enjoy seeing my students succeed. I have been teaching online courses as an adjunct professor and a graduate assistant since the Fall 2020 semester. I earned an MA in English and a BA in English Adolescence Education from State University of New York at Fredonia, and I am currently in the MFA program for a degree in Creative and Professional Writing at Western Connecticut State University. Since 2002, I have been writing and editing professionally since my first post-college job as a copy desk editor at a daily newspaper before finding my true calling as an educator. I believe that a student-centered approach to teaching serves the student more thoroughly. The teacher is the guide who helps the student navigate the assignments from all angles rather than a lecturer who quizzes on memorized material. Together, the student and the teacher work to reach the common goal of the student's success in the course.
