About Me

I have been tutoring since 2009, and I enjoy working with students of all ages. I love the learning process and share that enthusiasm with my students. I believe in meeting students where they are, keeping things fun, and maintaining student-friendly records so we can track our progress. My students have described me as kind, helpful, and a good teacher. I have the following degrees and qualifications:- MA in Teaching- BA in English- BA in Anthropology- Minor in Spanish (semester at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador)- Professional Educator's License for Middle Grades Literacy- National Merit Scholar- Rochelle Lee Teaching Awardee- 4 years of experience teaching middle school English classesAfter receiving my MA in Teaching, I began working as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools. I witnessed how the standard classroom setting did not fully meet many students' needs. I wanted to use my skills to meet the unique needs of individual learners, which led me to back to my first love: tutoring.
