About Me

As an experienced educator and tutor for over 7 years, I believe in finding different ways to teach. This includes guiding students on how to think for themselves, while also monitoring their own thinking. I focus on giving power back to the student. A few areas in which I excel include: really getting to know people and their interests, using student interests during lessons, strong problem-solving, general organization, different ways to teach most subjects, and student engagement. My teaching degree is from UNC Greensboro in reading and math for grades 6-9. I also hold a Master's Degree in School Administration that I earned in 2020. In the leadership roles that I have had at my schools, I trained countless teachers in math, reading, writing, speaking, science, and social studies topics in grades K-5 for about 3 years. I have also taught and tutored students in topics ranging from grades K-9.
