I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and currently work as a research scientist at the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield. My role primarily involves developing mathematical models for understanding and predicting fundamental mechanisms to performing laboratory experiments on chemical processes for medicines manufacturing. I attained a Bachelor's of Science and Masters in Chemistry. Prior to this, I obtained GCSEs and A-levels (UK based).

Professionally, I have primarily worked in academic settings, often in a research and teaching capacity. I love both sides of education and value the experiences of learning and of teaching equally. I often apply knowledge in science and engineering concepts for my research and firmly believe that applying knowledge is the best way to develop a deeper understanding of a topic. Breaking down large topics and applying concepts can also make those concepts easier to understand.

I teach undergraduate, master and Ph.D. students in addition to previously tutoring GCSE and A-level subjects as a STEM ambassador. I have always had the privilege of having excellent mentors in my field and try to be the mentor I would like to have for both Ph.D. students and junior researchers. My favourite subjects to teach are chemistry, mathematics and chemical engineering topics. I am also keen on assisting and helping university-level students with academic writing techniques particularly for thesis, dissertation, engineering-based reports and scientific publications.

Depending on a student's needs, my teaching style revolves around three main approaches which are:

1. Gaining a solid theoretical background of the topic to aid in understanding
2. Attempting numerous problem-based exercises to help the application of theory and to further think 'outside the box'
3. A good and well-practiced examination technique

I believe these are key ingredients to achieve successful outcomes whether it be for improving a grade or understanding a certain topic. Overall, I'm a positive and energetic individual who enjoys learning as much as teaching which I believe is expressed during my lessons.
