About Me

Greetings! I am Valencia. I love assisting students in improving their academic pursuits in math. I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology and three master's degrees in Biomedical Science Policy & Advocacy, International Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, and Disruptive Innovation, respectively. Although, my background is heavy in science and business, I would not have furthered my education without a solid foundation in Math! I am here to help in any way possible to help others achieve their goals. This past second half of the 2022-23 school year, I advised more than 80 sixth- and seventh-grade students in Pre-Algebra at Henderson Middle School, located in the Northside community of Richmond. Collectively, my students improved their yearly exams by at least 30 percent. I also served as the Axiom Site Coordinator to lead a team of eight tutors, manage administrative communications, and ensure student evaluations are recorded. I aimed to meet each student where they were and identified creative ways for the student to obtain a better understanding of the objective. Coaching the students with patience and empathy provided a lasting enhancement in their attitude and academic performance.
