I am 31 years old and have a masters in science education, specifically biology. I have a love for teaching and I take a creative approach that emphasizes teaching my students reasoning and learning skills rather than direct memorization. I enjoy approaching teaching from different angles in order to assure that my students learn in the way that is best for them.I am also a ballroom dance instructor and enjoy going to the gym and distance running. I grew up in Berlin, in former East Germany. I hold a degree in physical therapy and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.After moving to the United States in 1984, I began teaching German Language at a number of language schools in Washington D.C. My clients were children as well as professionals who were transferring to businesses, members of the US Military and the US Coast guard and of the US State Department. I also coached opera singers at the National Opera (former Washington Opera). As a college teacher of voice and at Loyola University New Orleans, I had the pleasure of teaching German to aspiring young opera singers and taught German Lieder (art song repertoire).My teaching style is varied and depends on the goals and the levels of each student. I am a stickler for grammar but I have lots of fun ways to practice it. Games and pictures are an integral part in my teaching method.I am very friendly, personable and laugh a lot. Learning a language is a wonderful thing and should be a happy pursuit!

I am a current undergraduate student at Wake Forest University and I am majoring in Political Science and minoring in Psychology. I primarily tutor high school students in literature and writing but I also tutor students in Algebra (middle school and high school level). As a tutor I incorporate visual learning with a clear structure and notes to help students gain the most from each session.

I am a graduate of Florida Memorial University, in which I earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Right after graduation, I immediately started working in Miami-Dade County Public School in a low income community, which I loved. Over the years, I worked in various schools and grades ranging from K- 5. My journey as a teacher has been an amazing experience especially working with students who are struggling academically and sometimes feeling hopeless. Helping those kids to believe in themselves has brought me so much joy. My passion is to help students improve their reading, comprehension and math skills, so they can improve the quality of life, self-esteem and overall trajectory of their life. I also tutor high school math and science at several area high schools.I left an industry job in semiconductors to work with students, and I have not regretted it once! I love teaching and tutoring.I am also a technical writer for several engineering publications, such as Automation Control and GlobalSpec.

I like helping students because I have been that student that has struggled myself, and I see helping others as one of my life purposes.I worked with students in an academic and performing arts setting. I worked with kindergarten, first, and second graders in math, reading, and science. In the performing arts setting I taught music and dance.On Varsity Tutors I tutor in a variety of math based topics and music/music theory. After retiring from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Bureau of Air Quality as an Environmental Engineer, I have acquired an AZED Educational Certificate in Specialized Secondary - S.T.E.M, 6-12 for Engineering, and have held various mathematics teaching positions, as eminent in my resume.In 2000, I began my "Dream" job of educating my small county (North Carolina) community in Adult Education with mathematical skills to obtain their GED for employment, while managing my own educational consulting firm called "The Wright Tutor". I enjoy the one-to-one contact with my clients and renewing the "Spark" in their eyes for the Future!!In 2019, I relocated from my hometown to the metropolitan area of Arizona. Since relocating to the West Coast, I have been employed as a Middle School Math teacher for the Imagine Schools (Camelback); Academy of Math and Science (AMSC), Varsity Tutors LLC as an online STEM tutor, and for various respectable charter schools, as an independent contractor for PRG (Professional Recruiters Group).I have the experience, empathy, and compassion to implement the educational instructional techniques and strategies needed to be successful. I have intentions to go back to school for Secondary Education to teach economics/social studies.
