Tutoring review by Yemi in Danbury, CT
We went over what he has done in class so far. We went over colligative properties and the equations that went with it, too. I explained the variables to him for each equation and how they can be used in problems. Going over the equations took awhile, because it is probably the most complicated material for this section. Then I went through the rest of the material with him to figure out his understanding of everything. I asked him questions along the way. He mentioned that his professor does not explain things very well, and that they just list things on the board. I tried making the connection between the equations and concepts for him. It seems like he didn't remember too much from gen chem I, maybe because the long summer was in between the two classes. However, after I explained some things and he repeated the information back in his words, he was able to explain things well. I think he just needs more time with the material. He said he's going to take the time to look through his book and organize his notes better and do more practice problems.

I started to help the student understand his homework assignment and the statistics concepts taught in his course. It's definitely the most difficult material I have taught, and he made definite progress.

Tutoring review by Domenic in Danbury, CT
This session was spent primarily on more math practice. The student warmed up with a couple of math drills before we began doing practice problems from the practice book. The student is still a little slow to answer questions, but overall does well and solves problems correctly. We briefly looked at a few practice English questions just to make sure there were no issues in that area. The student did very well, and I left her with 20 practice math problems from her own book to do as homework.

Tutoring review by Nicholas in Danbury, CT
The student and I covered FRQ's in preparation for her exam, dealing with 2 dimensional kinematics and problems that dealt with variables and not solving for a specific numeric answer. She seemed a little confused at first, but she caught on by the end of the session.
