The student has a test coming up, so we reviewed questions that will be on it: related rates and derivatives. The derivatives section went smoothly, and we were able to effectively review these. He understood the related rates problems that were reviewed in class, and he was able to find the solutions when we did them for practice. Next session, we will focus more on setting up the related rates problems.

We prepared for his unit test on exponential functions and the number e. We covered transformations and graphing and compound interest application problems. We completed his entire review packet with ease. He is very prepared for his test.

The student and I went through a few AP word problems involving a few different topics. She's getting much better with more and more practice. I can definitely see a lot of improvements in terms of comprehension of problems and how to break them down. For next session, we will work on few AP problems that she's working on in class currently, and possibly a few more AP problems that I will provide.

Today we finished with our final preparation for the student's math final. We did more work on factoring, solving radicals, solving systems of equations, and graphing quadratic equations. We also finished his note card today, and it is full of formulas, laws, and worked examples. We have exhausted nearly all of the sample problems available in the book, either from our first time through working on the homework, or from this review, and I believe that he is ready. He seemed to be pretty confident and ready to take the test, and he should perform fine.

The student has been doing quite a bit of prep already. We worked on writing, reading, and math subtests. His math skills seem solid. For reading, we worked on how to quickly discern the author's intent/argument in non-fiction. His writing seemed solid as far as we went.

The student and I covered topics from his assignment including but not limited to: exponential functions, applications of exponential functions, graphs of exponential functions, approximating changes in time, differentiating between constant and exponential rates of change, horizontal asymptotes, and determining the range given a graph and function. The student didn't struggle too much. He just required some guided practice and prompts to get him started. The student was very cooperative throughout the session.
