Tutoring review by Adam in Smyrna, GA
We covered fractional exponents, word problems concerning chemical solutions and then moved into grammar to prepare for the student's upcoming comps. He was uncomfortable at first with the word problems, but seemed to have a much better grasp on them after we did a few examples together. He continued to excel in fractional exponents and grammar.

Today, the student and I covered some simple separable differential equation problems, some of which required integration using the substitution method. These were problems from the test book. We then did a couple of motion problems involving movement direction, and stationary time instants/intervals. We then calculated net displacement, resulting position and distance traveled. We used the graphing calculator to understand and interpret motion graphically.

Today, we went over the student's last test that she received a 60% on; after some practice, she was able to complete most of the questions successfully, and with a little more practice I believe she will be able to be confident in her answers. We also completed her homework that is due tomorrow that concerned naming various triangle angles and sides, as well as naming different types of quadrilaterals (parallelograms, trapezoids, rhombus, rectangles, and squares). The student is very eager to learn, and picks up concepts quickly; whenever I would explain a new method to complete a problem, she was able to complete it herself after very little practice. For our next session, we will complete her 'Math Detective' assignment, as well as review any concepts that she had trouble with coming week to ensure that she is on top of her material for her upcoming test.

Tutoring review by Caitlyn in Smyrna, GA
We worked on reading comprehension and a couple of the math concepts that he seemed least sure of during our first session. For reading, we focused on comprehension checks at the end of each couple pages. I also asked him to stop himself and ask me if there was a word he was unfamiliar with. He did really well on comprehension, though about 80% of the time, I had to stop him and call him on words he had passed that he likely did not know the meaning of. That said, he did much better understanding the books we read today than even last week. For math, we did some long division, and then I showed him how to check his answers using multiplication. He did really well (correct answers across the board). I worked on a lot of positive feedback, since he was doing everything correctly and it seems that confidence in his work is his main hold-up for division. We also went over the concepts of area, perimeter and volume, which he had been relatively unfamiliar with during our first session. He picked these concepts up very quickly, and was able to do several area/perimeter problems on his own, with very little input from my end. He seemed much more comfortable doing this work. Overall, today went really well. He is a hoot to work with, and he's got great determination - even on the subjects he dislikes.

Tutoring review by Melvin in Smyrna, GA
During this session we went over graphing circles, parabolas and lines, using graphs to solve systems of equations. Overall, this session went well. The student needs to practice getting equations for circles, especially differentiating the radius from r^2.

Today was a great session with the student. We went through thermodynamics and kinetics concepts and began going over some of the problems she had in this problem set.
