I am a native North Carolinian who loves to travel and experience new adventures. I also love to watch and cheer on different sports and am a superhero fanatic (all things Marvel and DC Comics).

I received my Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science from Elizabeth City State University and my MBA from East Carolina University. I have lived through the evolution of technology. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to tutor other students throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, serve as a teaching assistant in graduate school, teach technology in healthcare as an adjunct instructor, and train people on the associated risks of our digital world. For the last seventeen years, I have focused on the Governance, Risk, and Compliance aspects of Information Security/Cybersecurity. I have the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation to accompany this experience.

In addition, in my personal life, I discovered that I had a keen eye for details and was often recruited to proofread and/or edit others' work. So, I have done my fair share of reviewing and improving written work's flow and readability, free of grammatical errors and inconsistencies. Wanting to take a deeper dive into this world, I returned to school to obtain a graduate certificate in Technical and Professional Communication with an emphasis on Editing.

I am here to help with college application essays, general writing advice, Microsoft 365 suite of products, study skills, academic guidance, and pointers about technical certifications.

My general philosophy is that there is strength in asking for help, and all questions are welcomed. If I don't initially know the answer, trust meI will find it (ask any of my family, friends, or colleagues they will say the same).
