I love helping students because I've struggled academically for much of my life. I'm now set to graduate from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with my BA in Philosophy this coming Fall (2025) though. That's in no small part owing to the amount of time I've spent in my professor's office hours and in tutoring over the last three years. Having been on the receiving end of so much mentorship I've learned a lot about what makes a good tutor student relationship/interaction.
It's been extremely rewarding to use my experience on the student's side of tutoring to help my students improve their reading comprehension, writing, English, and symbolic logic skills.
I think it's extremely important to understand a student goals in coming to tutoring. I take pains to make sure I understand what they need from me and everything I can do to help achieve their goals.
My favorite subject to tutor in is definitely symbolic logic. I think it's a criminally undertaught and underappreciated subject. A bit of experience with it will improve your thinking, reading, writing, and, as a consequence, your life generally.

I took drawing for my fine arts elective and fell in love with it. I never thought I had any "talent" at drawing until I took that class. It turns out Bob Ross was right "Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do." I never would've thought I could've drawn some of the things I have. It's major hobby of mine now. I also love gem cutting (faceting). You take rough gems like sapphires or emeralds and cut them into polished shiny stones. I have my first stone, a sapphire, set into a necklace. I treasure it. I also love to play video games especially World of Warcraft Classic and Oblivion Remastered in particular these days.
