SAT Subject Test in Korean with Listening Tutoring FAQ
Scoring well on the SAT Subject Test in Korean with Listening can help you showcase your exceptional Korean language skills to colleges and universities in a way that allows them to compare your skills to those of top students all across the country. Considering that the exam encompasses a mixture of introductory-level and advanced content while assessing your reading and listening abilities, adequately preparing for the test can present quite a challenge. Even if you are at the top of the class, you may find that you have let your knowledge of old vocabulary and basic grammar principles grow rusty as you've focused on more complex material in advanced Korean courses.
Identifying the particular areas you should focus on can be nearly impossible when reviewing alone or with impersonal study aids. Neither method can aid you in improving your listening skills, which play a significant role in determining your SAT Subject Test score. Private tutoring can provide personalized guidance to help you structure your review in a way that best addresses your particular academic needs in an efficient manner. With the help of a professional, you can organize your review to be as effective as possible. Varsity Tutors focuses on helping you to connect with instruction tailored to your particular needs. This customization begins when you create your student profile and continues through as you begin working with your Korean language tutor. Your profile can provide a wealth of information to a potential tutor. They can view your schedule, testing concerns, past Korean language scores, and as many other details as you choose to provide. Armed with these details, the educational directors can help you find the ideal tutor for you.
Each Korean language tutor is a fluent speaker of the language and possesses extensive knowledge of its complex idiosyncrasies. Each tutor is also a superb instructor who can make even the most convoluted concepts seem intuitive. Varsity Tutors' educational directors can consider various aspects of your unique academic situation to help you select the tutor who is best suited to helping you prepare for your SAT Subject Test. Your tutor can then analyze your current knowledge of the Korean language with the test's expectations in mind. They will collaborate with you to design a test preparation plan that focuses on just the aspects of the language that would be most helpful for you to review. With such a highly customized tutoring plan, your instructor can help you keep on the right track towards success. If you have a particular score you'd like to achieve or if you merely would like to review the basics, your tutor is available to support you.
All tutoring takes place in a one-on-one environment, so you can benefit from your instructor's full attention throughout each of your tutoring sessions. You can ask to meet in-person at your own home or anywhere else, such as a coffee shop, the mall, or a college campus. Your instructor will be happy to meet you at a location that's most convenient for you. You are free to request face-to-face online tutoring through our live learning platform, too.
Your private tutor can help you work through exercises that target your weakest skills, learn test-taking strategies specific to the problem types you'll face on the SAT Subject Test in Korean with Listening, and bolster your listening skills in preparation for the test's listening section. Recent SAT Subject Test in Korean with Listening Tutoring Session Notes
During my first session with the student we went over some practice Math and Science problem sets, as those are the 2 sections she wants tutoring on. For the math section, she has some areas where she needs some extra help/practice, and we will work on those going forward.
At today's session, the student and I continued working on his Math and Grammar fundamentals. With regards to the Math section, he and I focused on fractions and decimals. In addition, we went over a few vocabulary words at the end of the session.
The student bumped her composite up to a 29. After we looked at the odds and ends she had missed in the other sections, we spent some time working through new science material and strategies. I think it's a matter of exposure for the most part, so she's doing another test before Friday.
We went through verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and mathematics achievement in this practice test. The student found this test much less challenging than the ones that she had been taking in her practice book. She did especially well with the verbal and quantitative reasoning. We also went over the essay after discovering the correct length that is allowed on the ISEE. We read an example of a great essay and talked about the pros and cons. She and I also worked on the reading section in the original test booklet. She did very well in this section as well and is feeling much more confident about the exam.
The student and I went over her diagnostic test. We started discussing reading strategies and practiced using a few different ones on sample reading passages. We also began talking about strategies for the science reasoning section.
This session went much better than the last session. The student's accuracy has already improved, probably because school is back in session now. Next session I will give her a few timed sections to see how she does.
