The student has been working on dividing decimals by whole numbers, estimating, and dividing decimals by decimals. Overall she is doing well with her homework assignments.

The majority of the material we covered included using substitution, reasoning in word problems, and solving systems of equations by graphing and reasoning of the slope. Graphing the equations: the goal was to see if there was none, one, or infinite amount of solutions. The majority of those she did great at. I reviewed with her why certain slopes and equations only met once, none, or infinite number of times. She understood each of them and why. We also talked about what it looks like when two equations are intersecting at a right angle and when they are just crossing at one point on a graph. We reviewed that if you take the opposite reciprocal of a slope that will always be the intersecting slope of a line that is perpendicular to the original slope, and if two slopes are the same they are either going to have no solution or infinite number of solutions. Overall it was a great session; she seemed to really understand the work. Most of her questions were on word problems and reasoning the word problems out. We worked through a few more word problems at the end, and they became easier for her once she understood they were all worded differently but using the same concept and ideas.

Corrected quiz over simplifying rational expressions and solving rational equations. Focused on relationship between exponents and radicals and how to solve equations using exponent or radical variables.

We worked on evaluating integrals exactly using series, as well as using properties of derivatives to take derivatives quickly.

We reviewed a series of homework problems covering descriptive statistics and some inference problems.

The student worked on piecewise functions, graphing basics and good graphing practices, midpoint and distance formula, and circle formula. He is showing improvement in his confidence with math and is taking active steps to improve his math skills.
